If the HW2: Complete Edition didn’t exists or was 20$ more I wouldn’t be complaining.

UE owners should have their copy replaced with CE according to this webpage. It would be nice if they did this…wishful thinking…
“With the release of the new expansion and several months of updates to Halo Wars 2 since launch, the Ultimate Edition of the game will be replaced with Halo Wars 2: Complete Edition. The Complete Edition includes the base game, all Season Pass content and the Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare expansion, making this a great package for anyone who is looking to jump into the Halo Wars 2 experience.”
Hey i got a question did anyone really buy blits packs? 343 was probably banking on that to keep putting out dlc and supporting the game. It does cost money to make this stuff, and the season pass was only 20 bucks unlike everybody else which is 60. Im not say i like having to pay 20 but if they keep putting out content for this game im down.

Disappointment’s DLC Expansion is mediocre at best, you’re just playing as Banished against the Flood. No UNSC appearance at all. Hey, firefight? It’s fun… for 10min until you Uninstall Disappointment and resell it.

Clearly, the ultimate edition was not that at all as they have surpassed it with a “complete edition”. In other words, the “ultimate” is not the complete experience. Yet another marketing fail by 343. Should have just called it the “leader pass edition”. Seriously. Don’t call something ultimate if it is going be useless in a few months.

I searched on my xbox and couldn’t even find the UE anymore, all you see is the CE for $60 and the regular game for $40(overpriced considering it doesn’t included the season pass$30/ATN$20). What is the value of the UE? A lot less then people paid for it. That’s why people are upset and feel like the CE devalued the UE.
So, I feel like i’ve been ripped off. Halo wars 2 the complete collection or whatever just came out and it turns out to be cheaper that the últimate edition, funny right? Because, the main difference between both versions is that in one you get more, for cheaper price. Well, I find it even offensive for us players who bought the ultimate edition and still, STILL, we have to buy the recent damm dlc for 20 bucks. And hell, can’t we get a discount or anything?. We spent around 60 to 70 dollars on the game and they still want 20 extra for a dlc that is already included in a reissue edition of the game that is clearly cheaper?, I do feel ripped off by this, the people who bought the ultimate edition are paying way more and getting far less. On top of that, they just removed the ultimate edition from the marketplace and replaced it with the complete collection, so we, as buyers of the ultimate edition should get the damm AWAKENING THE NIGHTMARE for free. Or at least a discount or a refund or something. This does makes me really unhappy, because i love the game, but this just looks like a robbery.

What a bunch of absolute -Yoink- -Yoinks!-, -Yoink- you 343
Lets be honest here. No one here is getting any sort of refund, or compensation. That’s all just wishful thinking. Yeah it was a bad move to not include atn in season pass, but with the cost and value of production in atn they would be stupid to just hand that out for free. And yeah at this point it would be when you consider the value of each leader at this point by the way. I preordred ue so I not only got every leader but 4 day early access, operation spear breaker, and hw1 de as well. At this point the mainline game and its dlc has depreciated in price so I can see the lower cost for the CE. I am more surprised that people are still getting this salty so !ate. Its been out there since June atn wasn’t included. That said I suppose to be fair it seems most are upset at the CE cost.
As I scroll through this thread, we all wanted to have fun with (Disappointment) Halo Wars 2. But, our expectations seem to have been constantly thrown aside. This whole scheme is a Big Slap to the Face. It seems like 343i acknowledges the sinking ship that is Disappointment and will continue to develop Halo’s lore through books, comics, and the Halo 6 Resolution.
Ultimate Edition and Complete Edition? What a bogus marketing scheme. I face planted into the Ultimate Edition. Complete Edition? really…
Hey, 343i, you have a consumer base. But that is all you see us as, that Papa Microsoft sees us as. You seem to have forgotten the human factor in all of this. Btw, @MegaDawg169, I did find that article about ATN not being in Season Pass. But, it got swept under the rug pretty quick. (I’ll still buy from Papa Microsoft if you can follow through on Black Desert) Korea is where it’s at.
Tangents!
Expansion? Star Craft’s (both games) Expansions are worth every penny compared to this.
Gameplay Mechanics? Ensemble Studios created the Age of Empires series and they used their experience to create an RTS-niche classic for Xbox 360.
—Speaking of which, AoE4 better not be like Disappointment over here.
-Creative Assembly made the mechanics not 343i,. “Your a PHONY! A big PHONY!”
A season pass should be just that. You should get all content as and when released. I didn’t buy half a season pass, and don’t expect half the content.
Well, I ordered the game well over a year ago. I kicked up fuss yesterday. Contacted MS support again and used the following thread as part of my evidence.

Here is the problem like everyone has stated. The Halo wars 2 complete edition(plus buying the Halo wars 1 DE separate since it isn’t included) Is 80.00 USD. Where as players who preordered the Ultimate edition and have to pay for the Awaken the Nightmare Dlc have ended up paying 100.00 USD. Also leaders aren’t worth 5-6 dollars for only being 2-3 units per hero. I don’t play as Yapyap, Arbiter, Kinsano and Johnson, Want to refund me 20 bucks back?(Sarcasm) As much as I hate how 343 is with this game, I went ahead and bought the dlc because I believe in supporting a game that I enjoy playing.
Then we can get into a debate about what qualifies as a expansion(You know those TWO missions we got).
Go play Starcrafts expansions. Go play diablo 2’s expansion. Age of empires expansion/s. Heroes of Might and Magic 1-3 expansion/s. I could continue to go on but I wont because hopefully you get the point. That 20 bucks use to be worth a expansion that had almost as much content as a brand new game, Until developers and their parent companies decided to artificially inflate the costs of making a good game(Lol when 90% of games that come out are complete crap then they release the content that should have been in the game and sell it to you again at a later date because “Deadlines” lol funny right)

You forgot one big difference, Ultimate Edition has been available for 7 months. Game prices naturally drop as time goes on. Prior to the release of ATN you could get through Ultimate Edition for 40 dollars, so the complete edition costs the same as the current price for the Ultimate Edition plus ATN.
Just popping in here to say that I was able to get a refund for the season pass based on false advertising. Microsoft agreed, the fine print says all future downloadable content would be free with the season pass, & ATN is downloadable content. Now if only I could refund the game, too.

Forza Horizon 3 is still full price even though it’s 1 year old now. Games that sell poor have bigger price drops, just like HW2 did. It’s not a natural decrease and that’s why some people aren’t happy, especially when you consider the amount of problems with it and PC players were forced to buy HW DE on Steam.

You do have a point, video games don’t drop in price at the same time or in a uniform manner, though I personally think that Forza’s price NOT dropping is more strange than HW2’s price drop.

It was announced at E3 that ATN would not be part of the season pass, that’s when this thread was started
Oh I see, it’s not included.
Thats why it prompts me for payment when I try to access it, I was like “wtf” and went to google to see if it was a known bug.
Apparently by design.
Yikes, 100 dollars for ultimate edition suddenly seems stupid, as the rest of the content, though appreciated and valued somewhat in and of itself -is not really enough to warrant the price increase.
Note to self- either never buy “xx edition” or season passes from 343i or Halo series games, or wait until everything is released - few years down the line at a discount in a complete package.
When you pay about 100 dollars or so for a Ultimate Edition and as a pre-order, you kind of expect it to be “Ultimate”. Not “kinda ultimate”.
Will be more careful around 343i going forward, that’s for sure.
