> Wow I can hear the contempt in your voice just reading this, but yea you’re totally right everyone will totally buy this just like everyone bought Halo 4 and 5 since Halo’s sales have been steadily declining for years now.

Those still buying it are fans, big fans, they (me included) want to know the story, play the new content have fun with it. If you are ill and the hospital charges you a ridiculous amount, the next time you are ill and need health care you don’t tell them off because it was expensive. (Extremely analogy, but gives the point). As a big fan of Halo I am excited for new content, but after repeated offenses, perhaps this time I will play other games until this is on sale. I feel its a comprise.

> Uh no this is nothing like healthcare actually. Do you really want to see the story? Watch someone stream it or watch a playthrough on YouTube.

> Also repeated offenses? So where do you stand on Halo 4 being pretty bad outside of the campaign, the MCC being broken as hell and never getting trully fixed? What about Halo 5 milking the hell out of reqs and more or less having false advertising on a garbage campaign?

> I’m a big fan too, but I’m not about to give them 10 strikes before I go crap this is bad…
I have to disagree regarding Halo 4’s campaign being good. Looking at it from a gameplay perspective it was really repetitive, the ai were actually very dumb and predictable and so to try to counter that, 343I made the melee attacks from the knights instantaneous which took away from and slowed down combat. Each level was very rinse and repeat and probably the easiest legendary run ever.
As for story, Halo 4 has more holes than a screen door. Didact can pick up and theoretically crush the Chief with his “force powers” with ease but he doesn’t for no reason. Some might say that was his “hubris” while the Didact himself is seeming to lecture on that very matter.
Chief being the culmination of over a 100000 year old plan is so ridiculous it’s laughable and doesn’t fit with the feel of the Bungie games or Nylund novels at all.
The Forerunners also seem to have the ability to save people (The Didact) from the firing of the Halo array. Do they do this to save their species? No, they put one psychotic mutated Forerunner in this “super safe”.
As for the fail-safes put in place to prevent the Didact from escaping? Lol What fail-safes? The “robots” that were supposed to prevent the Didact from escaping IMMEDIATELY get converted to his side the very moment he gets out.
And what about these “Prometheans”? They don’t look anything like all the other Forerunner designs we’ve ever seen in the Halo series before hand. Sure there were differences in the layouts and structures of the different installations but they all shared similar styles for the Forerunner tech. Why the heck do we now suddenly have giant beetle like Knights and dog like crawlers? How is that efficient when sentinels can hover and fly far above the reach of flood forms? Why do they “disintegrate” when they are destroyed even by things like bullets from a DMR?
The weapons too? Why the heck does the Chief suddenly have access to a Saw, a new magnum, a new assault rifle, a new Warthog, etc while on board and just after the crash of the Dawn? He SHOULD be using the MA5C, M6G, M7 SMG, etc as well as the warthog variants and everything else from Halo 3.
In addition, how did the Forward Unto Dawn suddenly turn into an entirely different ship? That is not the same rear section of the Dawn from the end of Halo 3. That is NOT the back of a Charon class light frigate.
I can keep going. The point is that Halo 4 even from a campaign perspective is just terrible. It’s like 343 Industries didn’t even play the first three games or weren’t paying attention at all. There are so many plot holes, inconsistencies, etc it is inexcusable as a whole. In essence, I can’t name a single project that 343 Industries did right.
