ATN Not In Season Pass?

They should have just called it a “Leader pass” and not worry about all of this. They sneak in 2 missions and then can call it a “season pass” to sneak in pre-orders.

[deleted]

I just don’t get why people are so blind to the “more than six months” part of the CURRENT season pass description.

Seriously, read it, people. That’s what it says. Yet Grim has flat-out contradicted that in the community update.

This is on top of the fact that they (either deliberately or through carelessness) changed the season pass description before, without notifying anyone.

Please, enlighten me as to why these are okay things for a business to do, and why people shouldn’t be upset? (And no, “value” doesn’t count…)

I was going to make an entirely too sarcastic post saying why those people have disposable income out the butt, or they are over 30 and think millenials are entirely too entitled (we aren’t, but that’s another topic for another day for another forum.) Point is, it’s underhanded, and regardless of whether other companies have gotten away with it (very few, to my knowledge, if any to this level) it’s wrong.

ALL THOSE LEADERS SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE GAME TO BEGIN WITH!!!

That’s a matter of opinion, the leaders weren’t ready at the launch of the game (with Forge as an exception, but he was free) and so they took extra time and money to develop. They are well within their right to charge money for them

With the HW2 Season Pass, you’re getting what you signed up for - 6 months worth of free content after the game’s release, meaning DLC up until late August, in the Summer, and they said that all you will get in the HW2 SP will be new leaders and a couple new missions. This is what YOU signed up for. That is what you are receiving, you are receiving what you paid for.

So why are you acting like you have been scammed and cheated on when they say you have to buy the Awakening the Nightmare DLC separate from the SP DLC, when it comes out in AUTUMN AFTER SUMMER when all your SP content has been released? It is after the first 6 months of the game, so of course it is gonna be more money, you bought the SEASON pass not an annual pass.

You get what you paid for, everything you were promised - 6 months worth of DLC leaders and a couple missions.

ATN is a separate DLC as it is after the SP expires, did you really think you would be getting a whole new campaign where you play as the Banished, fighting a faction not in the base game - The Flood, along with new Banished leaders to play as with new maps and game-modes for free?? Because you didn’t pay for that, did you? You paid for the SP leaders and missions, not the ATN campaign, game-modes, maps and leaders.

You seem upset that 343i have decided to continue adding and supporting the game 6 months after launch… And upset that you got what you were promised…

Just be grateful that you got what you paid for and that we have more DLC on the way after the initial 6 months of the game being released…

Ugh, again, the season pass description SPECIFICALLY says “more than 6 months”. Not 6 months, MORE THAN 6 months.

Dude I’m sorry to say, but you’ve gotta read the thread and replies before you reply.

It’s been stated to death: The season pass specifically states more than six months. When many people purchased the season pass the description specifically stated an expansion and not two missions. This was changed and their customers weren’t informed of the change-- which doesn’t matter since they purchased the expansion already.

Literally nothing else matters. What people determine as the worth of the leaders, or the season pass is completely irrelevant to the situation.

I’m 30, and I can afford the $20. I will end up buying it because I love Halo and want to play it, but I will not be happy about having too.

I would just like to remind everyone that bungie is 343’s parent company and they did the same thing with destiny and cut the dark below and house of wolves out to sell as a DLC and I think 343 did the same thing with awakening the nightmare tell me what you think below

343 has stated that ATN was never intended to be part of the season pass. So no they didn’t cut it out.

That’s only after announcing it, and after changing the wording on the season pass…

This.

ATN was clearly a planned expansion and not a DLC to be included in the season pass. The fact that people are so uppity about this just blows my mind. Tons of content for no money.

Heck, most people in this thread probably spent way more then $20.00 this past weekend on alcohol, junk food and trying to impress women while failing miserably and paid that money gladly. But $20.00 for hours of fun??? Nope, can’t handle it.

I digress.

And bungie said it never cut content out of destiny one when it clearly did when you could glitch your way into house of wolves area and besides that do you really think they are telling the truth or are trying to cover their assets from a deceived player base, they used industry terms such as ultimate edition and expansion as ways to dupe their player base yes it is technically an expansion to the campaign if we were inside of a vacuum but we are talking about the gaming industry where we can look at other games and make a comparison for example Warcraft 3 had an expansion called frozen throne far cry had an expansion that was large too in the general gaming world DLC’s commonly refer to smaller content produces every few months whereas expansion refers to a lot of content dropped at once and for me 2 missions is not an expansion and I feel that the producers of this game knew what gamers would expect from their verbiage and they manipulated that theory also remember that we haven’t had a patch in over a month and colony took 2 weeks to fix and this whole time they have had devs working on a way to suck more money out of a dedicated fanbase

  1. Some constructive criticism, use commas or periods more often. It was really hard to follow your train of thought.

  2. I’m not debating 343 using improper terms/words. I’m just saying they made a statement saying ATN was never intended to be part of the season pass. You can believe or not believe that, it’s your choice.

My issue was never with paying for more content I couldn’t care about that its about how they worded their season pass with the word expansion when they knew that would draw a very different picture in the mind of gamers than 2 missions I personally would not have bought the season pass had I known I could have gotten the campaign with the awakening the nightmare I dislike colony and Johnson and would have never bought it for the leaders I don’t argue that its ok in price I argue that their delivery is shady at best and downright deceitful at worst

To your first issue is not an issue to the overall topic as long as you can understand and 2 their parent company was caught in lies about its last AAA rated game both before and after its release so I have no reason to believe them and 3 you never addressed my issue and the fact that they used purposefully misleading language then when people pointed out it was misleading they changed it without addressingthat very same issue to all this in this thread please realize I was wrong about the connection between bungie and 343I

  1. You can choose to believe them or not, that’s fine, nothing wrong with that.

  2. They changed the wording months before release, people didn’t notice till 2-3 months after the game came out. Should they have mentioned the change? Yes they should have, but they didn’t change it after someone called them out.
