They did give a time: More than six months. In fact, even the updated description says so as well.
Just so happens that six months is looking like the cut off instead, unless we’re gonna nitpick and say, “Well they released such and such DLC a couple days after the 21st of August”.
Edit: Interestingly enough, in the community update it seems like Grim was saying we’ll only be getting six months of content with the season pass when even the current season pass description contradicts this, which again is misleading information as it’s offering more than you’re actually getting.
At this point I’m not even arguing this stuff because I want the content I paid for, just to point out the stuff 343i has been doing since they took over Halo-- Which sucks because I was one of the people to jump in to defend them when Bungie stepped down. =(
Once again, all people claiming we shouldn’t complain because we got our money’s worth really need to shut up. A deal is a deal, I fulfilled my part of the bargain by paying 30$ extra, now 343 needs to deliver or give me a restitution.
343i said to add content for more than six months, and add a campaign expansion. They are not doing either (a mere 2 mission addition is not an expansion). The fact they delivered “value” with 7 leaders does not make 343i fulfill their part of the agreement. Thereby it’s valued as 35$ bucks by them, but in my opinion it’s not even worth 10$. I got the season pass just to get the “Campaign Expansion with exclusive missions”, because I don’t like HW online and I rather play H5 online. I did not pay extra for just 2 missions.
Edit: I understand that probably HW2 made not enough money. But here’s an idea, how about not screwing over your loyal fans by missusing your vague discriptions of the season pass to your benefit. Staying barely, just barely close enough to the vague wording to avoid filed complaints. But to me its shady business, I’ve spent a lot of money on Halo content for several years. If you let your fans pay for your losses of a game that’s not selling well than you just lost one.

The season pass did give it’s moneys worth but as you said you want them to deliver on their promises, that’s perfectly reasonable.
But here’s the problems, we don’t know when the last bit of DLC for the season pass comes out exactly so we can’t say for sure if they’ve delivered on that or not. Here’s the other thing. Define expansion, when I look it says “The action of becoming larger or more extensive” Does 2 missions qualify then? It does but it also gives the impression there’d be more content. I’m not defending them, because I think the wording is quite unfair but they’re not lying either. Both parties are at fault here, the developers for leaving an overly vague description and then some consumers assuming too much i.e season pass covering everything. Going forward the developers should outline everything very clearly.
I have a question, if you were only buying the season pass for the expansion, why wouldn’t you wait for the expansion to release and then decide to buy it separately or get the season pass then? Pre ordering games and the DLC for them is not a good idea, you should always wait for all information to be out to make an informed decision. The pre order and hype culture is what allows developers to get away with so much.

Dude I told myself I wasn’t buying Halo 5 and then I bought it anyway because I hadn’t completely written them off yet and figured the story would at least be worth it.

I paid $40 for my copy of wings of liberty and heart of the swarm. I also know that if I shelled out another 40, I’d get HotS, WoL, and legacy of the void.

because typically when an expansion is released or announced, and is included in the season pass, the season pass gets a price increase.

I think 343i have enough on their plate to not care about losing a whiny fan who calls themselves ‘loyal’ even though they criticise the franchise.
Edit; And I’m sorry but what did you expect to get out of the game when not playing HW2 Online?? It’s not even a mainline Halo game, why would you expect a story line as deep as the first Trilogy.
Saying that, I thought it was superb.
If you want a fps, which you clearly do, just go and stay on Halo 5 instead of just lowering 343i’s rep and clogging up the forum with 3 - paragraph - long complaints.

I paid 60 for WoL and 40 for each expansion, but I bought it on release so that might be why.

You’re right. No one is “making” me buy anything, but I already did when I purchased the Ultimate Edition and now they’re not giving me what I paid for. I purchased the Ultimate Edition that offered an expansion and not two missions. They later changed it to be the two missions, but they had already gotten my money and failed to notify me of the change.
Furthermore, even their updated pass offers more than six months of regular updates which in their words include leaders, campaign missions and units. Yet in their recent community update they’re claiming only six months now which is still not what people would be paying for.

Yeah, I got into the franchise late, so by the time I got mine LotV was just around the corner. Far as I can tell, they discount the previous expansion when the next is released.

Be careful what you say. One of my posts got reported for being non constructive when I called someone out on clearly not reading the thread

We don’t want it to be given away. We want it to be included in the season pass WE ALREADY PAID FOR. That isn’t it being given away. Also having Grim say it was never intended to be included is an even bigger slap in the face. Sell us a season pass and release a paid expansion immediately after you stop supporting said pass?
Holy hell can people read and comprehend the stuff we’ve been saying for the past 24 pages?
How expensive are Blur cutscenes? Do we have proof of how expensive they are? Just saying it must be expensive because CGI is pretty weak especially since we don’t know how many cutscenes will be included. Not to mention, again that this game has microtransactions in it already. The game has more streams of potential revenue than most other games these days.

In the same thread I read that said it was only 5 missions it also said it only had 2 cutscenes. One at the beginning, and one at the end. We’ve probably already seen the base of the first one with the trailer, given how all the HW2 trailers had nothing but cutscenes from the game.

Wow so a whopping 2 cutscenes over 7 missions. Wow. Just amazing. totally justifies the price /s.
