343i is “squeezing more cash out”. Huh. Apparently HW2 sold pretty well then, right? Wrong. And the season pass? They gave us 5 heroes (total of $30), two variations of proving grounds (maybe $5?), two extra missions (maybe another $5?). Thats $40 dollars. Now I’m no expert on season passes but I put in an extra $20 on the game and 343i gave me $40 dollars worth of stuff. Yes, some of it is questionable in quality (coughJohnson cough) but updates and hot fixes will hopefully address some of these things. And 343i’s pr and season pass information are definitely bothersome, I totally get that. But expecting them to give you an entire expansion (something that is larger in content than regular DLC) within the season pass? Come on, guys. I think we all need to breath and filter all this information a bit more thoroughly.
And whether you are going to agree or make a counter argument to my statement, make it civil. It’s tiring seeing all this trash talk in our community.
EDIT: Looked into another comment about how the Season Pass includes 6 or more months worth of content. Looked it up and it was there, “six more months of content”. I’m totally stumped and a little embarrassed. Okay, totally embarrassed since I made an argument defending 343i’s decision without solid facts, lol lesson learned. But yeah, totally stumped, and I wonder whats going on with this game and where its going. I love this game and Halo in general, but I don’t know how to defend 343i decision to not include ATN in the SP, unless, like I stated earlier, Halo Wars 2 did not sell well and they are trying desperately to keep the HW2 fire burning.

You and many others continue to forget to mention that we also have Micro Transactions within the game . Which means outside of Purchasing the game, and Purchasing the season pass they’ve also made money off of Blitz Packs Micro transactions. I kno of at least 5 players spending around $200+ each. With Micro Transactions involved, the expansion should be free similar to how that works in Halo 5.

I made a drastic edit to my comment. The season pass states what is to be included is content in the next 6 months or more. So I’ve corrected my opinion about the whole situation entirley.

It doesn’t say FOREVER pass if it was a FOREVER pass then it would be labeled as such. They are releasing a brand new full game length campaign. This isn’t what was included in the season pass. If you don’t want to purchase it then guess what; you don’t need to purchase it. People need to relax over this whole situation and be happy that they are creating this much content for a low population game. I’m personally excited for this and plan to purchase it.

Details that were changed after their purchase and were not made clear to the purchasers. When I purchased the Ultimate Edition I purchased leaders for multiplayer, updates for more than six months, Halo Wars DE and a campaign expansion. By detailing me what I would be purchasing and by accepting my purchase/money, 343i and I entered a contract that must be upheld (at least here in the United States). The deal that I and many others entered was for the campaign expansion, which by 343i’s own wording means the ATN expansion and not some two missions. I didn’t purchase the season pass under their newer description, I did so under the older description. In fact, I wasn’t even informed by message, email, phone call or anything that they had done so.

> >
> > Agree. Your edit really homes in on the problem. This isn’t just about the ATN expansion. It’s about an escalating habit if deception and greed by 343. I bought an Xbone for MCC. Horribly frustrating Christmas day (and following Spring). No way they didn’t know about MCC’s issues, yet they sold it anyway (and still do). Month after month we were promised a fix by 343. I felt like I had been robbed. They advertised and sold a broken game. Then comes Halo 5. It released as a skeleton of a game with microtransactions. Every month we waited to get modes and features normally included in a Halo game at launch. Then packs begin to be cash only, not available via RP. Then comes HW2 with the same skeleton launch, microtransactions, and promised updates, Buy the season pass and you get stuff, except not this stuff, you have to pay for that. I don’t think 343/Microsoft even have a passion for Halo or any game at this point. It’s pure business and how they can milk every penny out of us that they can. I don’t mind paying for a working game, or a season pass. I do have a problem with buying broken games, being strung along with vague promises and outright lies, and having the definition of what I’ve bought changed after I bought it. People should hit them where it hurts. Stop feeding the greed.
>
> Wait I thought all packs were always available via RP?
Not all of them. Certain special edition ones are/were cash only. HCS team skins and voices of war for example.

Straight from the description of the Season Pass on the Windows Store:
“The Season Pass delivers regular updates that span more than six months”
Need I really say more? If you doubt me, just look at the store page yourself…
Just a reminder that this is all 343/CA’s fault. This all could have been avoided if they would have clearly conveyed the discriptions. It’s a terrible time to unveil the ATN expansion when they haven’t even released the rest of the content for the Season Pass… This announcement is well within 6 months of the launch of the game… In a way it makes sense that it would be included to Season Pass holders… I mean I’m a lil sassy too that they pushed for this so soon when we haven’t heard what else is to come with the season pass (could’ve at least shown us the other leaders and SpearBreaker). I’m glad it’s coming out for sure though. It’s just really embarrassing on how well they could have explained this vs what they did.

I think Microsoft is very much at fault here, too.
How in the world did they think this would be a good idea? We still have no clue what the 2 missions are that the Season Pass does get.
Though I really think there was more than just incompetence behind this development. They know how much fans want the Flood to return, and they’re taking advantage of that desire to make more money instead of doing the right thing, which would be including it in the Season Pass. As I said earlier, the Windows Store description of the pass specifically states “more than six months”, and this DLC readily falls into that timeframe.
I think what all this boils down to is the phrase ‘campaign expansion’ this is what enticed me to purchase the special edition, the promise of more campaign levels. Now, 343i have changed the details on the season pass page to say ‘campaign levels’ not only is this incredibly shady on their behalf but possibly illegal, as they are changing a contract struck between themselves and their customers after the fact they have already taken payment for said content. Yes, I understand that we have been given quite a lot of dlc and there is more to come, but I bought it because of the promise of ‘campaign expansion’ not ‘campaign levels’ 343i should understand the importance of wording in their advertising. If, when I was making my initial purchase the season pass had clearly stated ‘campaign levels’ I would have bought the standard edition as PvP doesn’t interest me, but the original advertisement said ‘campaign expansion’ and that is where the problem lies, it all comes down to the wording.
I bought the season pass for something like this…not a measly 3 leaders then charge me another 20$ for an expansion. It’s things like this that separate good devs from greedy ones. A shame really, Halo wars was my favorite halo game so I wanted to stay with HW2 for a while, but this being flood-focused and not included in the season pass? Last straw, I’m giving up on halo. Why can’t 343 be like the Coalition? They took up the legacy of Gears no problem. 343 has done a poor job with Halo. (all my personal opinion)

Not to mention we are getting a mini-campaign which would probably be $5-$10 w/o the Season pass. We saved about $20-$25 on this game through the Season Pass, maybe even more.
>
> The idea that blits also ruined you… That was your own damn fault. They didn’t ask you to buy these blits cards, and I never even fealt pressured to get them to win. I got so many packs that I felt fine with all I have and had no need to buy packs. BUYING BLITZ PACKS ARE YOUR OWN DOWNFALL, NOT 343I FAULT THAT YOU SPENT MORE THAN YOU NEEDED TO.
>
> Lastly, how is paying $20 for a large campaign edition with cutscenes, along with a new gamemode, with a new enemy race, along with TWO new leaders a bad thing? It’s not, either pay the money or don’t, or you can spend $20 on a CoD DLC pack that gives you FOUR Multiplayer maps, see how far that gets you.
I paid €90 for the Ultimate edition.
The standard would have been €60
Due to reasons beyond my understanding I have to pay the equivalent of $100 for a digital download (no physical costs) just because I live in Europe?
Why is it my fault that I have to pay more?
So when they release a “New” DLC campaign I think its absolutely great and I will happily pay €20 for it.
However I, like a lot of people feel like that this is a sly move since we havent even got the DLC we paid for.

I know that’s what it says, and that’s what you’re getting.
Plus, that’s not a specific promise. That’s an open ended statement.
So first lets start with halo wars 2 that’s about $60:00 and then we have the season pass which is about $30:00 then Awakening The Nightmare which is $20:00 so add that all up and you get a game that’s about $110:00 with tax so that would probably be with estimation $115:00. Now for one I am upset but I am happy that there working wit sweat and blood as well as putting their heart and soul into making all of these leaders new maps and campaign mission for us. unlike halo wars 1 which had six leaders we have a total of 16 heroes for halo wars 2 and new campaign missions as well as a few new maps. So there are pros and cons to this situation but you are the only one who can either choose one side an stick with it or be in the middle like me and see it in both ways the choice is yours.
I’m so pissed my “season pass” is actually a “leader pass”. I have been a Halo fan since day one, but 343 is making me question buying the games. I will have to stick to reading the books if all their games will be as half finished as this and then riddled with micro transactions and BS descriptions of what is included with “passes” and what isnt.

Uh… what?
If it said “six months or more”, then yes, that would apply. But they specifically said “MORE than six months”. And no, that’s not what we’re getting. We’re only getting barely six months of content.
I have no clue why I’m trying to explain this to you, though…

The problem is what qualifies as more than 6 months? 6 months and 1 day or 7 months? That’s the problem with the description being so open ended and vague.
