Really… that’s why I said “$20-$25” and “Not $80 or $100”… IN OTHER WORDS $80USD=$100CAD. Season pass = $20USD. Therefore, Season pass=$25CAD…

So you only paid $25CAD for the season pass, NOT $100CAD.

Yeah, I understand that is costs money to make the DLC and extra cutscenes, but they haven’t even released the full version of the original game yet! The disconnect rate is like 50% of the time on Xbox in Canada.

Still, for the extra money I am underwhelmed. The dlc characters so far are awful, and quite honestly if I knew then what I know now I wouldn’t have bought the game.

You can stop trying to make yourself look like a smart a** any time now. He paid for the game as well as the Season Pass, that’s why he paid 100… Add up the cost buddy

As for the “promise thing” it wasn’t a promise, you’re right. But it was still wrong what they did

> > > The outrage shown on this thread for something that seems exciting to me is unreal. We were not duped on the Season Pass. In the real world, most companies deliver exactly what they say they will, and 343 has with their season pass. They have delivered additional maps, soon to be additional campaign missions, along with 5 leaders plus Forge along with their units and blitz cards. That is exactly what the season pass said it would do. For anyone expecting a for profit company to over-deliver on their promise because you misinterpreted the words of the season pass, you are living in a dream land. This is an expansion of the game beyond what was promised in the season pass/ ultimate edition. I know I am in a different position than most gamers since I am on the older side of the gaming generation, but I will pay $20 bucks for a new campaign, new leaders, and a new play mode that actually sounds pretty fun.
> > >
> > > Beyond the apparent lack of properly interpreting the language of the Ultimate Edition, why is everyone so mad? This is what a lot of people have asked for. Flood, new maps, Banished campaign with cool cut-scenes, a new game mode? Am I missing something here?

> > Anyway, I understand, but come on, that Ultimate edition was a lot of money man, I’m kind’ve disappointed that I, and everyone else who owned the Season’s Pass didn’t get what is clearly a piece of downloadable content in this game. I don’t care about everyone saying “343 Kept to their word, IIII will to buy this for an extra 20, why don’t you?” I’m annoyed because this is so clearly just an addition on top of the mountain I gave to them for it. We’re still ignoring that 80 is a lot of money, and over here in Canada the base is 80 and the Ultimate is 100!
> > Come on, put yourself in my shoes for a minute! And for that matter, anyone on this thread who’s disagreed with the main tell-off responders.
>
> It said 2 new Banished leaders will drop with the expansion (not part of Season Pass). This actually caters to all of the people begging for more Banished leaders to try to level out the number of UNSC options vs Banished options. I view it as a positive, but I guess people don’t like that?
>
> The UE was still a bargain if you look at the individual costs of all of the content produced. It would not be a bargain if you had no interest in getting the additional leaders/units/blitz cards but that was clearly what was stated in the description and what I assumed everyone who bought it wanted.
>
> I know I am not in the same situation as you… I don’t mind paying $20 for additional content for a game I love and I can afford it easily. I just don’t understand the outrage for a company developing and selling an expansion. The UE has been delivered as promised (read the description literally and don’t expect more than what they promised). It sounds like people have higher expectations than what was promised, hence the debate, but they delivered the minimum of what they promised. Honestly, you will run into that a lot in the real world, any contract should be written so that it outlines exactly what is expected to be delivered, not any more and not any less. They have lived up to what they promised. Not sure how a company can be at fault for that, but that is my opinion, and clearly I am in the minority (although I deal with contracts for a living). This should be an exciting announcement, and there is a lot of misguided rage on this thread. I will go back to lurking.

Ok firstly, 2 new banished leaders? What is the other one? I heard it was Commander Jerome and The Arbiter. And secondly, people want more banished, yes, how does that even relate to the conversation of the fact that it feels like a scam to what DLC this is going to be a part of? I bought the Seasons Pass goddamnit! It may sound like I’m hitting my head against a wall but hear me out, I do not care in any way if “343 lived up to their minimum promise”, and I most certainly don’t care if the world has done what they have done! Does 343 have to follow what the world has done? They sell a very prince Ultimate edition, and I buy it, content to get what future DLC will come with it, that includes new Campaign missions, and the heroes for the next 6 months, I’m annoyed because what you just said implies that they are selling these aside from the seasons pass. The flood mode should be the only thing I should have to pay for by this logic!

Believe me, I’m excited for the new mode, but that doesn’t stop what annoyance I’m getting induced for buying the Ultimate Edition, and having this thrown in as if I didn’t pay 100, yeah, we own the product already, but it doesn’t feel like I should spring back into spending mode when I’ve lived the memories of raising all that money to begin with, just to tell myself that I will be set with the entirety of this game’s lifespan! Apparently I wasn’t, that shouldn’t be so hard to understand!
And this is another problem, everyone of these responders think its misguided rage when its mere annoyance, the rage is from this defense of them selling another expansion, along with the tone of writing making it look as if the people who are advocating the annoyance of this new expansion are mindless cavemen and that those who want to pay the extra fee are above them.

And I think that’s just fine… I don’t have a problem with that at all.

All I’ve been trying to say is that I am on the other side of that opinion. I think the game and the dlc characters are great. I wouldn’t go back and change anything.

I just get annoyed when people make false accusations about 343 breaking promises or lying… I don’t want these opinions to sway what 343 decides to do (like give up the game)…

I think that if they had to give it to everyone (season pass owners) for free, they wouldn’t have done it… And I would much rather have to pay $20 for it than not have it at all…

We’re talking about JUST the season’s pass now? What about the entirety of the game adding on the Season’s Pass, which was $100, that’s what I was talking about, there’s some misconception going on here and I don’t know why you’re bringing it up.
The cost is high, ok? Lets just tone it down a bit

YOU SAID “I know it’s not cheap, but they’ve already made a serious $100 from me paying for that seasons pass, plus they expect me to buy blitz packs, and are you serious if it’s going to be 20 bucks more? Are you serious?”

Emphasis on “they’ve already made a serious $100 from me paying for that seasons pass”…

I am saying, No. They made $25CAD from you paying for that seasons pass. They made $75CAD from you paying for the core game.

That was my only point, which apparently when over yours and NK ME’s head…

I’m really unhappy with this. Changing the season pass discription is false advertising. I bought a “campaign expension” not just 2 missions. To the people saying we got our money’s worth in updates: That has nothing to do with this issue, I want to get what I paid for. If that’s not favorable for 343i then they should have made a different proposition.

Ok, great, I miswrote one of my arguments, its not that big a deal, you get the point! Base Game and Season’s Pass was a big price, and I don’t see this correction making any progress on your quest make me want to pay another $20. or make me sad cause I don’t want to have this be a $120 deal, either way it sounds terrible!

> > > >

> >
> >

>

The two new banished leaders are different than the Spartan and the Arbiter. Spartan and Arbiter are the June release leaders (they announced there were two new leaders coming in June). The two new banished leaders are dropping with the expansion in ‘Fall’ according to what I have read. As far as your other points, while I understand what you are saying (trust me, I get it) I am just trying to convey that they did live up to their promise (it was the bare minimum, but taking the literal wording into consideration, it is exactly what they have delivered).

I brought up the two new banished leaders because I was expanding on the fact that the expansion appears to be in line with what a lot of people have been begging for (more leaders on Banished side since there are so many UNSC options, flood, Banished campaign that isn’t cheaply done and new maps). Plus each leader if bought separately cost 6 USD. Two new leaders would be 12 USD so it is 8 USD for an additional banished campaign with cinematography and a new game type. That purchase is optional, and might not be for everyone if they don’t want more campaign, or if they don’t really care about two new Banished leaders. Look at me, I am a UNSC Cutter main who has only finished the first two campaign missions, but I still see the value and intend on buying it because it adds more content to a game and genre I love.

In summary, I get the frustration, but I believe the frustration comes from unfounded expectations. They delivered what they promised (or soon will) even though it is the bare minimum. It may be frustrating if you expected more, but that is not what they promised.

Ugh… I thank you for being understanding, and I thank you for telling me there’s going to be 2 more banished leaders cause I didn’t know that, but I’m still kind’ve annoyed that this thing just went over the head and that THAT was the bare minimum. New leaders and campaign missions for the next 6 months! Like… How did that turn into this?
Maybe I’d buy the flood mode, and maybe everything else is not misleading, but that doesn’t make them anymore malicious to have made such a move on their customers.
Its very fishy, and apparently it passes with you guys, but it just doesn’t pass with me. Of course I’m going to buy it, but I think 343 should care about their customers more than whatever they are that isn’t money.
Like, they didn’t change the store description right? What I read months ago said that Campaign expansions and New leaders would be free for the next 6 months and… well, if they changed it than that makes me think they were lying.
Does that sound good to you? /:frowning:

Popping back in to say something.

I just realized that they’re deliberately holding back 2 Banished leaders, who would FINALLY even the faction numbers out, for this expansion.

So even if you don’t care about single player, they’re making you pay the full expansion price if you want the full, even leader roster…

And don’t go saying that the last 2 season pass leaders after Jerome and Ripa’ could be Banished, because that’ll just lead to a totally different leader imbalance.

What’s wrong with the last two SP leaders being Banished? Then those who want 7 and 7 don’t have to buy the expansion.

I don’t really see the problem here.

Because the expansion will then throw off the balance.

If the expansion added 1 UNSC leader and 1 Banished leader, then it’d be okay. But that’s not the case.

I see your reasoning, but I really don’t see that as a big issue since they’re optional, just like the season pass leaders.

If you take out DLC leaders you end up 3 and 3, and potentially if you don’t purchase ATN you might have 7 and 7. Plus they could always add more UNSC leaders

I’ll attempt to throw my hat in here. People need to start being realistic. You paid for a season pass. What’s the second to last word in my last sentence? SEASON. It doesn’t say FOREVER pass if it was a FOREVER pass then it would be labeled as such. They are releasing a brand new full game length campaign. This isn’t what was included in the season pass. If you don’t want to purchase it then guess what; you don’t need to purchase it. People need to relax over this whole situation and be happy that they are creating this much content for a low population game. I’m personally excited for this and plan to purchase it.

Meanwhile we have the vast majority of games whose season passes cover the entirety of their content. Even those that don’t generally have an entire year worth of content (see Rainbow Six Siege).

We also have the issue that when people purchased their season pass they were given details of what it would include. Details that were changed after their purchase and were not made clear to the purchasers. When I purchased the Ultimate Edition I purchased leaders for multiplayer, updates for more than six months, Halo Wars DE and a campaign expansion. By detailing me what I would be purchasing and by accepting my purchase/money, 343i and I entered a contract that must be upheld (at least here in the United States). The deal that I and many others entered was for the campaign expansion, which by 343i’s own wording means the ATN expansion and not some two missions. I didn’t purchase the season pass under their newer description, I did so under the older description. In fact, I wasn’t even informed by message, email, phone call or anything that they had done so.

So if you entered a deal with a company for something, that company took your money and then decided to change the contents of the package you purchased, then you as a consumer are more than in the right.

Edit: Do I consider that I got my moneys worth? Yes. Do I expect them to hold up their end? No not really. Will I be purchasing from them day 1, be buying DLC or trust them as a company anymore? No. They’ve been losing my trust since the MCC.

Season? “Six months” you mean, thats what they said.
its June now, its been 4 good months since the release. You’re only stirring the hive right now by the way.
