Sir.

This is not online. This is Halo Wars 2 Forums. It’s a life style.

Take your “online” nonsense elsewhere.

I feel that 343 should have told us that there was going to be a separate expansion not included in the Season Pass way before HW2 launch, it’s like being told by the teacher that you don’t have to study this particular topic but then a day before the exam he goes “Lol I forgot you do have to study that part, sorry about that!”

Now they just give you what you already bought lmfao. It’s quite smart on the business end if the consumers don’t understand. Now when they want to release the leader, you literally download the key that unlocks the leader in the game, while they update the game itself through testing to make sure it doesn’t break. It’s quite a funny tactic, but has been used in the industry for years. You can tell their main focus has been on Flood since launch. That’s probably the only true dev work they’ve been doing lol. If they don’t make the Flood a playable faction, I will not be buying as I’ve already purchased the Delux Edition which is basically a vanilla version that had all the leaders cut out of it to make it seem like a bargin. I SEE YOU 343I. It’s such a shame that 343 is playing off of the demand for the Flood which they knew people have been hoping for and waiting for especially since the Original. Such a shady, shady, shady move. A slap in the face for everyone who has supported Halo Wars and Halo Wars 2. GG. I will not be buying anything from 343I anymore. The NEW EA.

At release they were definitely not $20 :joy: but they also had years to do their development, not six months.

If they had given me the promised campaign expansion (my primary reason for buying the ultimate edition that includes the season pass) before announcing the ATN expansion I probably wouldn’t be as upset. But changing the description of the pass like they did and then announcing this so soon, before giving season pass owners their promised campaign expansion, was a cheap move, possibly even shady, and I completely understand why some people will not support 343 after this. I’m tempted to say the same, but I still enjoy Halo too much not to support 343. But in the future I will be warier of any season passes 343 has before deciding to purchase them.

Fair enough. But still, if you only wanted a small portion of the DLC why purchase the season pass? That just sounds like a bad decision.

While I agree that what 343 had done is shady, this is nowhere near the level done by Sean Murray with No Mans Sky. If I was Bonnie Ross right now I would put an official statement to at least beat out the fires.

People are forgetting that they’ve already confirmed that we Season Pass holders are already going to receive everything we’ve been promised. ATN is completely bonus content, and thus it makes sense that we’ve got to pay extra for it! If you people have actually been paying attention over the past few months since game launch, you’ll know that the Season Pass isn’t some magical key that entitles us to get for free every single DLC and expansion that Halo Wars 2 releases! We have been already told that having the Season Pass merely grants us access to future DLC leaders and some new Campaign missions, not an entire giant story expansion!

So why are people complaining that ATN is a rip-off, and that 343 has lied to us as ATN’s content should be included in the Season Pass? It is quite easy to understand why many are confused and angry. They said that the Season Pass will give us access to future DLC leaders. ATN allegedly contains two new DLC leaders within. Why should Season Pass holders pay extra to get ATN in order to get those leaders when we should already be entitled access to them?! Also, ATN is said to contain two new Campaign missions. They said that the Season Pass would let us play new Campaign missions that they would release eventually. Shouldn’t those missions within ATN be free for us Season Pass holders?

Well, this mindset is flawed. They have already delivered everything they promised us in the Season Pass! Firstly, if you people are unaware; they have already stated that the additional campaign missions for the Season Pass is still yet to be released. This means that, those extra missions in ATN are not the missions for the Season Pass, and we will still eventually get our additional free campaign missions, just that they simply won’t be ATN’s missions. ATN’s new missions are completely bonus and separate from the missions promised in the Season Pass.

Secondly, we are really expecting too much when we think that those new DLC leaders included in ATN should be available to us Season Pass holders. So far, they have already given us Kinsano, Colony, and Johnson for owning the Season Pass. That makes three DLC leaders that we have already been given access to due to owning the Season Pass. Apart from those leaders, we are still set to receive an additional four new DLC leaders later throughout the year just from the Season Pass. That’ll mean that, by owning the Season Pass, we’ll have access to a total of seven DLC leaders! Isn’t that basically what they’ve promised us within the Season Pass? The fact that the two new leaders within ATN are not going to be included in the Season Pass is understandable. Heck, we are already going to have seven DLC leaders, how much more do we except the Season Pass to give us for free?

Don’t believe all my points about all the content we Season Pass holders are already getting separate from ATN? Well, read this quote:

> Even with all that this brand-new expansion offers, the Halo Wars 2 experience isn’t done yet. Playable on the show floor at E3 will be Halo Wars 2’s next playable Leaders, Spartan-II leader of Red Team, Jerome-092 and Arbiter Ripa ‘Moramee – prime antagonist of the original Halo Wars, back (but still dead) with a Banished twist. Both Jerome-092 and Arbiter Ripa ‘Moramee will be available later in June, and are included as part of the Halo Wars 2 Season Pass or available for individual purchase.
> In addition, the Halo Wars 2 Season pass will have two Leaders still to come, plus an additional two campaign missions that we’ll be talking more about very soon, so stay tuned!

Like I’ve already said; we Season Pass holders are still getting everything we’ve been promised in the form of four more DLC leaders, and two additional campaign missions coming up. The content in ATN is entirely a bonus from all that. Expecting to gain so much more from the Season Pass from what we’re already getting, and calling 343 liars and money-cows due to us not getting our greedy expectations fulfilled is truly wrong. I’m open to criticism and more logical opinions, tell me what you think about the way I’ve interpreted this whole issue.

EDIT: To those who were affected by the problem of 343 suddenly changing the Season Pass’s product label, ignore my entire post. You have a legitimate reason to be angry at 343, as you didn’t get what you’ve paid for. To those who were totally unaware of this, think about my words.

Question. If i have the seasonpass and dont give a -Yoink- about the campaign will i get the 2 leaders? or will i have to fork up 20$ for them

That’s the thing, it was originally not a small portion! As we can see, the expansion is large, warranting its seperate purchase! Usually, season passes include the most expensive content, and if anything is sold seperately it is the smaller items. Pre launch, we had no information to make the decision to either buy the season pass, or not buy it at all and pick and choose. What I am saying is, 343 should have given a rough roadmap of their plan (because of the change in description) so we were able to make this decision, if we wanted to pick and choose which content we prioritise.

so if i only play multiplayer im going to have to pay an extra 20$ just for 2 leaders if i have a season pass already?.

Yes

I have enough of the guys who have nothing to do then writing “we still are getting what we have paid for”.

I think that you are paid for writing nonsense like this.

What was the promise of the season pass at launch? It provides for leaders and the campaign expansion in form of DLCs. Was there ever mentioned that extra content in form of a campaign DLC is coming which was not in the season pass? NOOO.

You know what that is? This is customer missleading at its best and on a lawsuit level. I have never ever experienced something more dishonest and sneaky than this. Deception on an entire new level in the game industry.

Halo 4 first DLC drop?

Halo 5 story advertisement?

It’s just one in a row of things i343 has done

We keep seeing walls of text trying to defend what are basically scams. One day, the whole multiplayer component will be “DLC” … And we will still see people writing walls of text to say it’s all good. And Season Pass will cover 8 weeks.

And we will be charged for balance patches because hey, that’s extra work !! LMAO

You clearly cannot read then because this thread has 16 pages worth of grievances at this point.

I find myself both happy and disappointed with the announcement of this and ill explain why. I was happy to learn we would get even more leaders and a full campaign for the banished (even though it was implied in the season pass) then I thought about it for a minute and I realized that we have not gotten a patch in about a month (this includes Johnson being crappy) then I thought about what else has gone wrong and immediately thought back to the colony launch fiasco where for almost 2 weeks they couldn’t fix that bug another issue I run into is that the first 2 dlc leaders were unique and fun to hw2 but it seems to as if they are going for quick cheap shots to end it with nastolgia just so people don’t freak out with the lack of updates. I think the real reason bug fixing the lack of updates and colony were screwed up was due to the fact that 343 took people off of other teams to work on this awakening the nightmare

Welcome to the Ark DLC expansion? Featuring new campaign missions aka one of the selling points of the season pass?
Now they release a separate “Campaign DLC” not included in the season pass before the DLC I already paid for?

I love that theres more content coming and I will pay for it but I still think its a sly move.
