which would have been something he and i likely would have done if we were told ‘oh the expansion DOESNT come with the ultimate edition despite what the description says’

> I understand where that frustration is coming from, but the way that Llamapajamas said, “Either provide the product for ultimate edition owners, or give me my $20 and I’ll use that to buy the campaign DLC. I refuse to pay twice” makes it sound like he ONLY wanted the campaign expansion. Because of that I said it probably would’ve been smarter to just purchase it separately.

Even were that the case though. Perhaps he ONLY wanted the campaign expansion, which is what he was sold when he purchased it, and decided why not get the leaders basically free with his expansion. Then the company who sold him the product he wanted decided not to give it to him, but to request another $20 for the product he already bought.

The description seemed pretty clear at launch: We would get leaders, updates and a campaign expansion for more than 6 months. They then changed this description to exclude the expansion which is what was already purchased and didn’t even deign it necessary to clarify or to inform their purchasers.

The point I’m making is that you wanted the leaders, correct? What if the description had changed afterwards to exclude the leaders and instead incorporate the expansion? That’s pretty much the issue with everyone. There is no “smarter to purchase it separately” argument because they explicitly stated it would be incorporated with the bundle in the season pass, then decided not to fulfill their end of the contract.

It’s literally as simple as that. Nothing to do with money. Nothing to do with buying anything separately. Just the fact that they said one thing, profited and then did another, which is very clearly the case here. Original description states a campaign expansion, they changed it to not specify an expansion, then sold what they themselves consider to be an expansion: Awakening The Nightmare. It’s not his fault, or your fault, or my fault that they decided they weren’t getting enough money, because we all upheld our end of the contract when they received our money. They did not.

Again, I think I got my moneys worth, but that’s pretty much irrelevant. The point I’d like to make is that we’ve been seeing some pretty poor practice on their part since the MCC, then again with Halo 5’s ad campaign, then again with more issues on this game’s launch and keeping to a schedule they set. For me personally I’ve been a massive Halo fan since The Fall of Reach, but I still won’t be supporting that kind of practice with day 1 purchases or DLC purchases in the future. Same with EA, Activision and Ubisoft lately.

My question to you then is did you want the additional multiplayer DLC?

i didnt really care about it, i mean sure its cool for those who enjoy it and the leaders can be played in single player skirmish but i got the ultimate edition for the season pass so i knew i could get the new campaign maps. I dont really care about the multiplayer to much and dont really play it, think i’ve only had like one or two matches outside of the original beta

What’s the point of my season pass ? Angry and disappointed !

Because it was in the product bundle they purchased? If you were told, you can either buy this item separately for $20, or this bundle which incorporates this item and you get all this other stuff free with the bundle, would you purchase the bundle at a better value, or the item separately?

You can get a cheese burger for $5, or the same cheese burger with a fries and a coke for $5. What’re you going to purchase?

The issue with this statement is that the description was changed MONTHS before launch. Lego has a whole thread about that.

If that’s the case then I’m sorry, you probably did not the same value out of the season pass as me. You should’ve bought the campaign DLC separately.

I’ve never posted before, but this has brought me out,so let me get straight 343 has not only re-released on steam, changed the season pass description after purchase, but also now asking for money for a dlc expansion not included in the season pass?WTF,I don’t mean to jump on anyone, but this I don’t understand how anyone can defend this or think it right or ok.

The season pass description was changed months before release. That argument holds little weight at this time.

In addition Grim on Reddit has shared that ATN was never planned to be included on the season pass.

343 didn’t mislead you. Omg you people whine if you have to pay a penny for anything. It was for the first 6 months of DLC which this is farther up than that. They aren’t scheming to steal your lunch money pal, you people got more than your money’s worth on DLC for your 20$ and you complain because you didn’t get basically an entire new campaign for free. If you trust them so little then you shouldn’t have bought the DLC and should’ve waited and only got the DLC you wanted. People saying “no they change the description of the season pass so they could steal from us” yeah okay I’m sure they did something illegal to get your 20$. Some of the halo community has to be one of the most unappreciative community’s out there. Even if it was all true and they “stole” from you then the best way to get back at them and make a statement is to not pay for the DLC and make them lose their money making it. Sitting their saying it was all some big plot to get your 20$ is as bad as the people who blame the government every time something bad happens to them. This conspiracy stuff around 343i is ridiculous.

They. CHANGED. The. Description. That’s shady at best. I did not purchase the Season Pass (never do so unless it’s CD Projekt RED or Deus Ex), but this is pretty damn anti-consumer friendly.

Shady? Yes I agree it’s shady BUT not misleading. Anyways I’m glad I didn’t buy this game anyway

I’m not going to argue the point, but I still don’t think them changing the description was in the best intestests. If I had to guess it was because of 343 realizing they either couldn’t meet deadlines or couldn’t afford to.Either why I still think it was a bad idea to change it if people had already pre-ordered and if they decided to change it with people still pre-ordering they should be notified of any changes. In any event I believe in the in the decision whatever the reasoning was bad on them, because they did nothing to notify people of the change.

I swear, just because the vast majority of other developers and publishers deliver all of the DLC with their season passes and that it’s a common expectation, they’re just looking for a reason to complain. I really wish people were logical /sarcasm.
>

I believe people have the right to call 343 on issues with money since the course this game has gone on,just as you have the right to defend it though I don’t understand why.

> In addition Grim on Reddit has shared that ATN was never planned to be included on the season pass.

The description held the expansion even after that and someone saying ‘oh we never planned it’ doesnt matter when it was originally stated to be in the package

Whether or not they have mislead us, in the end 343 still has lost the trust of some people

I understand why people are angry at this. I really do. Up front with the season pass there should have been something that read “Does Not Cover Full Expansions.” Not sure if 343 or Microsoft is to blame for this. I personally don’t have the season pass, and I’ve paid about $18 for leaders so far (about to be $28), plus the 2 missions. You’ll all have gotten your money’s worth. I’ve heard the initial charge for a minute of Blur cutscenes is close to $900k, so I can see why they’d do this. But I do see the anger.

> It had better be significant to warrant the extra cash.

Its amazing that people who pay more money for an Ultimate Edition get a season pass. Funny thing is 343 knew how to get our money - the flood. Just saying if I have pay for it then I’m probably not going to be sticking around for much longer.

Agreed.

The Season Pass delivers regular updates that span more than six months, including: New Leaders with abilities that change the course of multiplayer matches, new Units that add to your multiplayer arsenal, new Blitz cards to collect and take into battle, and new campaign missions that expand the Halo Wars 2 story.”
> > > Nowhere does it stated that this would be getting you all the DLC. It also don’t state that you would get a full second campaign and a firefight mode. You guys remember Halo 3 ODST. What was in that I wonder? Oh a Full Campaign and a Firefight mode… How much did that Cost? 40$ And guess what, it was made that same way this Expansion is being made. Yet it wasn’t covered by the Halo 3’s Season Pass either.
> >
> > ODST came out 2 years after Halo 3. Don’t think that this holds up for comparison.

> Plenty of Games have had DLC 2 years in. Not that my comparison has anything to do with that. My point was that there’s no actual difference in overall Content, ODST just came on a Disk and wasn’t called an expansion to Halo 3.

you pay 70 for the game then pay and extra 20 for the season pass sorry but they have taken enough money of us you would exspect to get the dlc along with it there just milking us
