You do realise people like Hot Juicy Pie are voicing their concern about what they feel is unfair in order for it to hopefully not happen again, to people like you, who are missing the point, get affected by errors but do not notice, or do not care, which ever you choose.

Myes, it’s “technically” an expansion adding a single unit, however seeing as they felt the need to change the description, I really doubt their definition of “an expansion” falls under the same literal definition you choose to adopt in order to defend them. How would it be any confusion if they went by your definition? All they had to do then was to explain their definition. Then again, they have announced the ATN as an expansion, with more campaign missions, new cinematics, a new game mode, two new leaders and two new maps.

So, what do you think they define as “an expansion”?

Good job on their part “not causing confusion” when they changed the description and left us in the dark whether or not there would be an expansion, according to previously released editions called “expansions” for other games that went rather close to each other in terms of content they offered.

Going back to what I said first, if you do not care, what are you doing here?
Now if you please, let us complain in peace so that it may be heard by the developers and you’re presented with better quality products / services as they learn what to do and what not to.
Otherwise you may find yourself ripped off, properly.

I lack the capital to fund a class action lawsuit against an industrial titan. So I’m making my voice heard elsewhere.

You can think were wasting our breath all you want, but we did the same thing with the ODST expansion they wanted to charge for in TMCC, and they ended up giving it to all early adopters for free. Consumer opinions matter. Being a shill won’t earn you any special rewards.

> > Battlefield has micro transactions and a season pass, COD had micro transactions and a season pass, Destiny has micro transactions and a season pass, R6 siege has micro transactions and a season pass. Literally every game has a season pass and micro transactions it makes no difference that micro transactions are in the game. HW2 has a season pass for $20 and now they have another addition for $20. If you added it up it’s $40 for all the DLC HW2 has, which is less than the normal amount other games are charging for their games. I don’t understand how people don’t get this!? The days of complete DLC being $20 are gone. The HW2 season pass was a steal for $20 and that’s pretty obvious when you consider other season passes are roughly $40-$60. That’s why everyone for the most part bought the ultimate ed. and season pass. HOWEVER, some games have different phases like World of Warcraft and R6 siege. These games are really popular, so they pump out a new season pass or DLC to keep the game relevant. R6 siege’s first season pass covers the first year of characters and it EXPLAINS that. However the first season pass doesn’t cover the Y2 characters and vice versa. Halo Wars 2 has not deceived anyone because you’re going to get $20 worth out of the season pass, but to expect a HUGE expansion in that $20 value as well is dreaming. Bottom line:
> >

> Also define a steal? I didn’t want to get 7 leaders or whatever for my season pass they said camoaign expansion and I expect a hell of a lot more than 2 missions. Also don’t say the leaders are actually worth $6 please don’t. A few different uniques and leader powers is all they bring. Everything else is the same. I can buy DLC for AoE 2’s remaster for $10 and get 3 new civilizations, new gameplay mechanics, and all those civs have completely different bonuses, tech trees, and units along with civiliaztion bonuses that offer far more than 1 $6 leader and that’s a game that’s edging on what 18 years old?
>
> Also please don’t give Halo Wars 2 a pass on this because WoW and Siege. Those games are actually super popular relevant. Halo wars 2 launched and I heard nothing else about it. The game is not that influential nor should it get to piggy back because another game does it. WoW has subscriptions. Should we have to pay monthtly to play Halo Wars 2 because WoW does it? R6 Siege to my knowledge also makes the operators available to everyone eventually so why do we have to pay multiple times with no chance of it becoming free outside of Kinsano?

  1. Siege didn’t include all their DLC in one season pass
  2. Micro transactions are not pushed so heavily in HW2, but in BF1 it literally showcases gun you could buy while you wait to join game. Plus I’m a lvl 50 in HW2 I pretty much already have all the blitz cards maxed out. It’s really easy to complete your collection when you just play the game.
  3. The season pass stated that it was bound to end. You learn to read.
  4. The leaders are worth $6 because that’s what they’re listed as. Each new leader has changed the way multiplayer works. Granted it’s cancerous at times, but it still has added DEPTH to the game. It’s worth $6 for a leader.
  5. Go play a 10 year old game then? Also you’re comparing steam prices with Microsoft. It’s common knowledge that Microsoft charges a lot more, but also it’s a huge company.
  6. WOW and Siege were used as examples to explain that not all game’s DLC is cover in a single season pass. It went right over your head. To build off it like I said in my first post this game isn’t as huge as those, which gives them even more of a right to charge for another DLC. The funds aren’t there. The game sold low, I doubt anyone is buying blitz packs, and like you said the leaders aren’t worth the bang for the buck to some people.

You obviously don’t like the game or the company, so why are you even here. The flood DLC is fan service to players like me who enjoy the game and the franchise. Not a bargain shopper. I’ll pay the measly $20 because it’s my money. I want to see the flood come back, I want a banished campaign arc, I want this whole dlc to tie into H6. You? You sound like you’re looking for a tin hat to hide your thoughts from the government. You’re pulling out these crazy conspiracies that this is all a huge money grab for 343. It’s not this DLC is fan service for what remains of the HW2 population. Now if the ATN DLC cost $40 this would be a different story. That would be a money grab.

Okay, let me ask you this hypothetical question.
Had the leaders been priced around 10-15$, would you have said the same?

No, because that’s wayyyy too much for a single leader. Especially when the season pass was $20-$30. Between $5-$7 is fine for a leader imo

Great.
Then what would you say to someone, after you hypothetically said that the leaders aren’t worth 10-15$, who told you that they’re worth that price because they’re listed at that price?

  • You also missed the part where Siege operstors are still available for all players. - You don’t buy guns in BF1 you buy skins. You also don’t buy scraps you earn them in game and the only microtransactions are battlepacks you easily learn. Nice fallacy though. - Uh no it didn’t. It said over half a year of content. Then 343 came out of the woodwork and was like lol nah it’s done after basically half a year NOW BUY THIS! Seriously though where does it say it will end on this, Microsoft’s own store page? Halo Wars 2 Season Pass | Xbox - Value. It’s a subjective thing so we’ll agree to disagree. - Steam prices only vary on sales because they’re far more frequent. Everything on Steam isn’t magically $8 cheaper and the price I listed wasn’t a sale either so not sure where you’re even taking that? - It didn’t go over my head you straight ignored my argument. An RTS isn’t a giant MMO ir a competitive shooter. Those games do in fact have distinct seasons, but their models are so different you’re comparing Apples to oranges. Smaller games have the right to charge more for DLC? What are you smoking? Smaller games give out free DLC to show goodwill towards the community. Look at most indie games or small devs and tell me they have a season pass.I obviously don’t like the game? Yep totally why I paid $80 up front for it with a season pass and am now this pissed they just clumped this right on out because logic?

I certainly dislike 343 now because I have disagreed with every design choice they have made for the past 5 years with my favorite franchise from a gameplay and business perspective.

The rest is ad hominem which is just weak and deplorable. You can do better than name calling on the internet. Besides Tin Hat and Bargain Shopper? Why because I actually call the company out on shady practices they aren’t up front with, but other devs are? Makes sense man.

Also the I’m a mega fan so this is clearly a great deal argument slams head into desk if only that were viable as well.

I’m pretty sure they didn’t include it, but regardless, Activision and Treyarch were upfront about it only being 4 DLCs, something 343 most certainly did not do.

I bought the ultimate edition because of the promise of a “a new campaign expansion”

I don’t care that the leaders included make it worth the money
I don’t care that I am getting a “mini campaign”
I don’t care that the new DLC is “worth $20”

The deal I made with Microsoft was that in exchange for an additional $20, I would receive a campaign expansion. The only thing advertised as such is ATN. Thus, I AM entitled to the god -Yoink!- expansion in which I have already paid for. The very language being used to describe ATN is the same that implied it is what I paid for when I purchased the ultimate edition.

Either provide the product for ultimate edition owners, or give me my $20 and I’ll use that to buy the campaign DLC. I refuse to pay twice.

Wow so people actually wanna get paid for doing there jobs? How greedy that is. What a bunch of jerks.

You people can be so toxic sometimes I swear, it’s a season pass not a free DLC for life pass like really people just look for any reason to get mad at 343 now, it’s ridiculous. I’m not even a big fan of 343 at all but geez you people need to think more logically sometimes.

Yea totally it isn’t like season passes that we already paid for usually provide players with all the DLC for a game amirite fellas?

Who’s complaining about people wanting to get paid for their jobs?

Perhaps people are complaining that when they bought the season pass, it was said to include an expansion. A description which was later changed without notice of any kind, to not include the word “expansion” at all.

Mega burger: One beef which weighs 150 grams, it has bacon, it has fried egg, it has cheddar cheese, tomatoes, burger sauce, and all that other stuff you put in a bruger
Mega Meal: Includes fries, a drink and the Mega Burger

Customer: “Hi, I would like to order the Mega Meal please”
Burger salesman: “Okay, that’ll be 9,99”
10 minutes later
Waitress: “Here you go, one Mega Meal”
Customer: “Wait, it said one beef of 150 grams, this one has two smaller beefs which barely seem to go over 50 grams, combined”
Waitress: “After you ordered your meal the Mega burger changed what it included”

Wow so people actually want the expansion that was described to be available with the season pass that they bought the season pass for? How greedy that is. What a bunch of jerks.

God it’s so toxic to point out the fact that 343i mislead them and then changed the information of the season pass after people bought it. I swear, just because the vast majority of other developers and publishers deliver all of the DLC with their season passes and that it’s a common expectation, they’re just looking for a reason to complain. I really wish people were logical /sarcasm.

I feel like this a risk everyone takes when they buy a season pass, you don’t know if the content that you want will be included within the pass.

Example: I am happy with the pass because I’m happy with receiving new leaders and Spearbreaker. I feel like I got my money’s worth. You only wanted a campaign expansion and could care less about leaders.

Sounds to me like it might have been smarter to not purchase the season pass and just wait till they released the campaign.

There’s a difference between not being happy with the content that is included in the season pass, that you do get.
And content advertised to be in the season pass, when you take the risk of buying it based on how it’s advertised, and then seeing the advertisement changing to not include one or several items that were included at the time of your purchase.

Yeah, I didn’t know what I would be getting with the season pass, but I had some idea based on the description, I remember reading about an expansion.
Howeverrrr, later I found out that the description had changed, and expansion was no longer part of that description.
So, I thought I was getting an expansion, but then they changed it so I wasn’t getting one.

I hate when they propose us a day one season pass and still ask us to still spend 20$ for an extension that i thought would be included. I also bought the ultimate so i was sure not to spend more money on it. I thought doing well but i was clearly wrong
Reminds me of what Bungie did with destiny…

I feel bad as i know that i want to play that expansion very badly. I shouldn’t feel that way

I understand where that frustration is coming from, but the way that Llamapajamas said, “Either provide the product for ultimate edition owners, or give me my $20 and I’ll use that to buy the campaign DLC. I refuse to pay twice” makes it sound like he ONLY wanted the campaign expansion. Because of that I said it probably would’ve been smarter to just purchase it separately.

I agree if you’re talking about non-season pass holders, but this should be free of charge for people who bought season pass.
