‘Technically an expansion’ yet they still felt the need to change the description in the first place

Is no one going to mention Halo Wars Definitive Edition? The $20 extra that went into the Ultimate Edition also included the entire first game running naively on Xbox One, not just the Season Pass. Definitive Edition games tend to cost $40-$60 on their own and we got it for barely anything! With early access it was my most played game from launch until HW2 came out. And on top of that we’re getting 9 new paid leaders and those 2 campaign missions. I think we got enough content with the $20 Ultimate Edition to justify a separate, paid expansion. A new, full-featured Banished campaign against the Flood sounds awesome and worthy of being an expansion.

Too avoid more confusion and to forse make more content in the future with people like you complaining

It changed nothing though. It literally added graphics options and Full HD support. It wasn’t even much of a value since many already owned the game.

Also huge counter point. I got Skyrim Special Edition for Free. FREE. Same with the remasteres Bioshock games and most of those are younger games than Halo Wars 1 and of a higher value overall.

It probably cost them next to nothing to do and probably took barely any time.

To get Skyrim SE you had to own the original game and it’s $45 worth of DLC, and even then it was limited time only. You can’t call out “free” when you put stuff much into it already. Right now it retails for $40 which is exactly what I said they go for. Bioshock remastered games for those who already them which is nice, but for those who don’t have them it’s $60 for the collection. The HW2 Ultimate Edition included HW: DE for EVERYONE, not just those who previously invested in the franchise. Remasters are not something that are usually free or cheap, especially for newcomers. There is no denying that the Ultimate Edition came with enough content to justify the extra $20.

Edit: I would absolutely say the Definition Edition changed the game. Sure in terms of content it was the same but it ran so much smoother than the original on backwards compatibility. The BC version was finicky, laggy, and ran nowhere close to how well DE did. I’d say the HD upres and smooth animations and gameplay made it worth it.

You know what would have been even easier? If they made an attempt to notify early adopters of the change. Any attempt at all. Yet I received no email regarding my purchase, no messages from Xbox live, there was no news post here on waypoint, no tweets from the official channel, nothing. They changed it in the dead of night and hoped people wouldn’t notice. We did notice.

Lol I love the argument that there was enough content as though it’s the issue. It’s largely irrelevant whether or not one considers there to have been enough content for the $20. They informed their consumers of what their product would have, they advertised said product, they sold said product and then changed the description after the fact.

Whether or not one considers to have gotten their moneys worth isn’t the issue (especially when I can list a number of games with many times more content for cheaper). The issue is the misleading and shady business practices.

If you want to make it about $$$ and hours played, then I refer you to the Witcher 3’s season pass and Fallout 4’s season pass. Both base games offered many times more content than HW2+Season Pass DLC, both similarly priced ($25 and $30 IIRC) season passes offered expansions that were individually more than the HW2’s base game.

Hell Fallout 4’s season pass description changed too and guess what? They understood the issue of changing the description and adding more content separately and decided to give that content to their pass holders despite the fact that Halo is churned out yearly and supported by, what I expect to be a wealthier publisher, while Fallout is made every seven years. -----------------------------------
TL;DR- The issue [for me] isn’t money, it’s the misleading information, the change in information, the expectations revolving around a season pass, 343i’s recent track record with Halo MCC, Halo 5’s ad campaign, HW2’s bugs and earlier issues, etc. They’re becoming a company that’s cultivating a massively divided fanbase and is rapidly being seen as an abusive producer of goods.

That was hardly a bonus, since they put it on Steam shortly afterwards, and didn’t bother to make the Windows store and Steam versions compatible, thus leaving the Windows store version a ghost town. And they haven’t bothered to even give people who bought the ultimate edition a Steam key as compensation…

You’re not being misguided by the season pass. You’ll get your leaders, campaign arc, and blitz packs as promised. What you won’t get is ATN because it was never included. This DLC was never slated to be in season pass if their ideal launch time was Fall 2017. The season pass ends after 6 months aka end of summer 2017. ATN is most likely the endgame/second phase for HW2.
> > >
> > > Did I say double no I said almost double and season passes lasting half a year because 343 says it will. Pinch me will you fanboys ever stop defending this company…it still stands as well that they’re pulling this with the season pass when microtransactions are oresent and pushed.
> >
> > You said double and what still stands?
>
> Basically going to turn my investment into double means more or less, not exactly. Please learn to read. What also still stands is that we’re getting premium content held out of the season pass for $20 when 343 is pushing microtransactions in this game still so not only are they getting the money from season pass holders they get the money from the people feeding them for Blitz Packs yet this DLC is not included in the Season Pass and is $20
>
> How you think that won’t leave a sour taste in people’s mouth. Just wow.

Battlefield has micro transactions and a season pass, COD had micro transactions and a season pass, Destiny has micro transactions and a season pass, R6 siege has micro transactions and a season pass. Literally every game has a season pass and micro transactions it makes no difference that micro transactions are in the game. HW2 has a season pass for $20 and now they have another addition for $20. If you added it up it’s $40 for all the DLC HW2 has, which is less than the normal amount other games are charging for their games. I don’t understand how people don’t get this!? The days of complete DLC being $20 are gone. The HW2 season pass was a steal for $20 and that’s pretty obvious when you consider other season passes are roughly $40-$60. That’s why everyone for the most part bought the ultimate ed. and season pass. HOWEVER, some games have different phases like World of Warcraft and R6 siege. These games are really popular, so they pump out a new season pass or DLC to keep the game relevant. R6 siege’s first season pass covers the first year of characters and it EXPLAINS that. However the first season pass doesn’t cover the Y2 characters and vice versa. Halo Wars 2 has not deceived anyone because you’re going to get $20 worth out of the season pass, but to expect a HUGE expansion in that $20 value as well is dreaming. Bottom line:

Halo Wars 2 DLC all together is a $40 value. Live with it.

You weren’t cheated out of it if the season pass clearly states it is to end in the summer and the ATN ideal release is in the Fall.

Wanna know the funny thing though? I got Skyrim for $5 with all its DLC on a sale, same with Bioshock. $45 value so you say. It’s because the games are old.

Also naturally no -Yoink- an emulator isn’t going to play better than native. The BC ran worse than the 360 version until they patched it several times.

The animations weren’t smoothed either it was just a frame rate boost with graphics options. Like I said probably took them barely any time at all which is why when they put it on Steam they made it cheap $20 I think it is? So they get a nice chunk of change and double dip on the PC Market. That doesn’t make the game a $20 value. There’s a reason they threw it in with the season pass. Because it was quick, easy, cheap fanservice that they could make a buck off of later.

> > >
> >
> >
>
>
>

Funny except all the games you listed aside from destiny include all their DLC in a season pass and for the most part their microtransactions aren’t pushed like Halos have been.

Also the season pass description says more than six months not stops after six months.

Also HW2 season pass is $30. Can you read? The ultimate edition has the $20 pass sure, but let’s not throw out false information here.

Also define a steal? I didn’t want to get 7 leaders or whatever for my season pass they said camoaign expansion and I expect a hell of a lot more than 2 missions. Also don’t say the leaders are actually worth $6 please don’t. A few different uniques and leader powers is all they bring. Everything else is the same. I can buy DLC for AoE 2’s remaster for $10 and get 3 new civilizations, new gameplay mechanics, and all those civs have completely different bonuses, tech trees, and units along with civiliaztion bonuses that offer far more than 1 $6 leader and that’s a game that’s edging on what 18 years old?

Also please don’t give Halo Wars 2 a pass on this because WoW and Siege. Those games are actually super popular relevant. Halo wars 2 launched and I heard nothing else about it. The game is not that influential nor should it get to piggy back because another game does it. WoW has subscriptions. Should we have to pay monthtly to play Halo Wars 2 because WoW does it? R6 Siege to my knowledge also makes the operators available to everyone eventually so why do we have to pay multiple times with no chance of it becoming free outside of Kinsano?

do you need to act so immature? people feel ripped off and you’re complaining at them

complain towards 343 for not being more clear

I just read the news. My thoughts are: that this is a bad move on me, a season pass owner. That the correct move would’ve been to announce this after all content for the SP was released. The way it is, what this news has achieved is making me feel bad about my purchase.

No one mentions bo3 and zombie chronicles being $25 even with the season pass

No I’m acting like I bought something and they changed what I bought after the fact. This is called a bait and switch, and is illegal. Look it up.

Alright then get a lawyer

And people did what? They took issue with it.

“The Call of Duty®: Black Ops III Season Pass delivers 4 epic DLC map packs in 2016 with all-new multiplayer content, including re-imagined fan-favorite maps from Call of Duty®: World at War and the Call of Duty®: Black Ops series, plus thrilling Treyarch Zombies content, all for one great price.*”
I didn’t buy Blops 3 since I’ve been done with CoD for years now, but unless they changed the description and mislead their consumers your post holds no relevance, yeah?
