The following FAQ should answer some of your questions about ATLAS. We’ll be updating this FAQ as necessary, so if you don’t find the answers you’re looking for, check back later.
I can’t find the app on the Android Market for my device – where is it?
Halo Waypoint for Android is available for most Android 2.2+ devices, and it runs in app compatibility mode on Android 3 devices. It isn’t compatible with devices that have qHD resolution displays or HTC Android devices right now, but we’re hard at work on an update that should make Halo Waypoint available to a broader range of Android devices.
I don’t seem to get a game in progress notification for Firefight or Forge.
ATLAS game connectivity is available for all Custom games, and all Matchmaking games with the exception of Forge-based maps and Firefight game types. Stay tuned, as we’re hoping to have news soon on using ATLAS in Forge and other map variants.
Every time I sign into the app I get an error message, such as, “We couldn’t sign you in…”
If you haven’t accepted the latest Xbox LIVE Terms of Use on your Xbox 360 or on Xbox.com, you won’t be able to use Halo Waypoint. Sign into Xbox LIVE on your Xbox 360 or Xbox.com, agree to the Terms of Use, and then try signing into Halo Waypoint again.
My ATLAS map isn’t updating very quickly when I am playing.
For the best experience, connect to a WiFi network while you’re using ATLAS. While you can use your wireless data connectivity, such as 3G, connecting to a wireless network with a higher bandwidth allows for both the maps and the near-real-time game data to download faster.
In what countries and languages is Halo Waypoint for iOS and Android available?
Halo Waypoint for iOS and Android is available in English and in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. We hope to make Halo Waypoint available worldwide in more languages and more countries very soon.
Where do I download ATLAS?
ATLAS is built in to Halo Waypoint. Just download and install the Halo Waypoint app for Windows Phone, iOS, or Android. On Windows Phone, ATLAS is free. On iOS and Android, it’s available as an in-app purchase. To get Halo Waypoint, go to http://www.halowaypoint.com/atlas.
When I re-enter the app on Android, ATLAS doesn’t seem to be aware of my games anymore.
When you leave Halo Waypoint on ATLAS, the app continues to run in the background. To avoid draining your battery, it stops checking your game status. If you re-enter the app, sometimes it won’t resume checking your game status. To resolve this, go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Halo Waypoint and Force Stop the app. Then start it again.
I’m having trouble with Halo Waypoint. Either it crashes, or I get an error message.
We’d like to hear from you and help resolve the issue. Post about your issue in the ATLAS bug report thread. We’ll follow up with you via private message if we need more information to diagnose and resolve your problem.
If I have an Android phone and an iPad, do I have to buy ATLAS twice?
Your ATLAS purchase is linked to your Android Market or Apple App Store account – so yes, you would have to buy it twice. However, if you have an iPhone and an iPad, you’d only have to buy it once. Or, if you have an Android phone and Android tablet, you’d only have to buy it once. When you access ATLAS on your second device, just click the Purchase button. On iOS, you will receive this message: “You have already purchased this item, would you like to re-download it?” Click Yes. On Android, after you click Purchase, ATLAS will automatically be unlocked if you previously purchased it.
