did they think starting a game being down 360 to 50 was a good idea? im guessing this will not be considered constructive criticism and be deleted just like my last thread. in the time i spend waiting for a game to start, then being thrown into a game that is pointless to play because of the score. having to quit that game because it’s stupid to try and play. then start up a new search only to be thrown into another game just like it. wouldn’t it have made more since to let me just wait to find a game that has not started yet? (CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM)
third game in a row that this has happened. like i said on a previous post. no one at 343 cares about fixing anything or trying to help anyone with this game.
I’m sorry, here I was thinking that 343i was doing weapon tuning to troll us.
And that’s 343i to you.
fourth game in a row
Actually, your first post in this thread is constructive – minus your discussion of moderation actions outside of PMs.
Your second post in this thread isn’t so constructive.
Your third post is little more than a bump, which falls under our spam rule.
However, I’m going to let these posts stand for now. I want you to have a chance to read the PM I sent you.
Same thing has been happening today for me, over 10 consecutive games were JIP, despite alternating between playlists.
It infuriates me when people get annoyed about being JIP’d say 10 games in a row (or 4 in this case).
You could so easily have just sat for 5 minutes in that first game, and you’d have been playing full games since. Instead you repeatedly search for new games and waste far more time than you’d have lost to that first JIP game.
Its like going to McDonalds, seeing a huge queue and saying “Screw waiting in this queue, I’ll drive to the next McDonalds”, and then when you get to the next one theres a huge queue there too so you say it again “Screw waiting in this queue, I’ll drive to the next McDonalds”. Eventually you will find a McDonalds with no queue, but you’d have been better off queuing in the first one.
i agree with you OGHaze… partially. i think it is a problem to JIP on a game that is too late or a mismatch. if it is a mismatch and most players remain (mismatches are often due to partied players on one team) then you get stuck getting crushed to due your terrible team against a teamed up/partied up team.
but i am not experiencing the problem of the OP too often to be frustrated by it. it rarely happens and is kind of annoying when it does, but i deal with it.
Maybe it’s the people’s who quit games’ fault, not 343?
I hated Reach because half of my team slayer matches were me alone against other 4 players because everybody else on my team had quit.
Now in Halo 4 I am glad when I hear “team-mate joined”.
Relax, finish that game where you just JiP’d and move to the next one from the beginning.
I think if any of you actually took the time to read the bulletins you would see that 343 are working on this issue and don’t need any more notifications about how it doesn’t work.
Actually posting in the right topic might help as well
JiP: When I get a JiP match they are usually very early into the match, I then finish the match and the next one I start from the beginning. You should try not quitting and see how that works for you.
You guys do know how to do the my Xbox trick to avoid Join in progress right?

Exactly,
Tolerate the disadvantage in the first match, and then enjoy the games moving on.
The OP’s stance that 343i does not care to improve the game should be pretty much laughed at now, as evidenced by the numerous fixes to this game…
How does finishing the first one guarantee that you won’t get another straight away?
I know that occasionally the lobby stays together and you get a full game, but usually you’re left on your own again and at the mercy of another JiP.
Am I missing something obvious, or do lobbies stay together longer at higher levels?

If you are in the lobby that just finished a game, you are not searching for a game. Rather you are a) waiting for the next game to begin, or b) waiting for new players to fill the slots created by those leaving.
Either way, you will not be JIP.
There are instances where everybody leaves, but that does not happen often for me.
OGHaze’s comment is incorrect. People will leave games after they are completed and the remaining party can be sent into a game via JIP. This system is extremely frustrating in objective games. CTF Matches begin unbalanced due to JIP but if they are not balanced in under a minute a flag cap is bound to happen. People will rush.
Thanks Ryu.
That’s what I thought people were driving at. My experiences so far have been this isn’t very reliable, but I’ll stick with it and see.
You know what’s weird. I remember joining games in progress constantly in Halo PC and never having a problem with it, nobody else did either they were just happy to play the game. Maybe it was because you could choose which server to join, or maybe people just thought differently of it then.

In halo CE, there were no ranks. In Halo 4 If I join a game in progress, I’m still expected to finish well if I want to rank up. It doesn’t matter that I joined at the 25 kill mark of a game to 60, the other team has been spawn killing one player and grabbing enough power weapons to fund a small army, and last but not least, they will most likely have complete map control by the time I spawn in to the game.
That is why I will never play a game of join in progress.
Here’s my thought on it:
You’re not allowed to complain about JIP if you’re quitting games.
You are the problem that JIP is causing to you.
