I can agree with this to an extent, but it doesn’t justify how poorly the game has been handled since it launched.
Halo was never meant to be a live service game especially since they are struggling just to produce content, being fully aware they have major issues.
Imo, that’s just asinine and the wrong people are running this game.

Considering how long the new engine is used to explain why the game took so long to come out, it actually makes it even worse that the engine is still a mess.

No. Too many people that don’t want to see the truth, 343i is a mediocre developer at best.
Most if not all of my issues with Infinite have nothing to do with the monetary side of things. I stopped playing because of the crap netcode, the trash UI/UX, and the lack of understanding of what makes a Halo game Halo.

It kind of does.
They have to tip-toe through their mess of an engine just to get something out the door and more often than naught (so far) that thing has been broken

Maybe 343 is trying to emulate UNSC spacecraft. The Spirit of Fire (small Bungie) defeated Atriox and his forces (the challenge of making a good Halo game) with about 3 Spartans, while The UNSC Infinity (bigger 343 Industries) couldn’t stop Atriox and the Banished, despite having Forerunner tech and HUNDREDS of Spartans (343’s vast resources and time compared to the old Bungie).
TLDR I am trying to say that 343 may be emulating Halo space battles (I am using an analogy to explain).
I would still say it doesn’t justify it but it does explain alot as to why we are where we are with Halo Infinite.
They can’t even make a playlist change without breaking so much. It has me worried for season 2 since more UI changes are coming. Meaning more severe Breaks like the BTB incident is also incoming.

At this point is is laughable at how bad 343 industries, or as i like to call them 343 incompetence, has dropped the ball. They dont communicate with the community and when they do, they cheery pick which issues to talk about. They had 6 years and 500 million budget and still can’t figure out what makes a Halo game Halo. If this what Halo is like for the next 10 years, why bother even playing it?

When it comes to producing content, yes, when it comes to the over priced shop, the BP, and this so call live service. That is just ignorance…

I wouldn’t be surprised at this point if something as simple as changing store prices would break the UI.

Well they can’t even make it possible to buy items in the bundles 1 by 1 because the UI would break something so not to far off
Also completely off point but my kid watches some thing Call FGTV and for some reason when I saw your avatar I was like hey that reminds me of the guy from that lol

FALSE !!!
343 Industries needs to change how it functions in a few manners and readjust its hiring standards to allow for Halo fans to actually be a part of the development team instead of ignoring their applications on purpose and hiring a bunch of randos.
Then to distance themselves from the 343i brandname, they need to rename the dev team to -
S - 1 1 7
(Studio 117)
Know what you mean. I felt hope with the original teaser but then 343i slowly took that away then it was mostly disappearing around the time of the early access game that they were trying to market as a beta plus 343i lying about the progression system and continuing to mislead us with the Watchdog skin was pushing it too far… It’s like the multiplayer is sort of fun but this is the quickest I’ve ever dropped any Halo game because of what 343i did. For me the final straw that pushed me to stop playing is I couldn’t even earn the basic Master Chief armor in-game like they promised we would be able to do and that is a major break in trust and I believe they’ve gone too far.

I want everyone to know that 343 plays no part in making any good Halo experiences. Certain Affinity, Ruffian Games, Splash Damage, Creative Assembly, and Blur are the only reasons modern day Halo has anything going for it. For anyone not aware, these developers either were the workhorses of MCC’s salvaging and upgrading, or in Creative Assembly’s case they made Halo Wars’ sequel that a bunch of people enjoyed because it had the original Halo artstyle after the disgusting bug inspired one from H5. 343 just acts as a huge money sump for -Yoink!- and I’m very surprised that they haven’t been canned for not once making a successful game in the decade that they’ve had Bungie’s best IP.
For more context about MCC: Ruffian Games did most of the work porting MCC to PC and adding the entirety of Reach with all its modes and theatre to the game, they also did much of the legwork to get Halo Online’s armors into Halo 3’s armor customization. Creative Affinity and Splash Damage also worked with Ruffian to polish the MCC so it wasn’t a splurging desync filled mess like before. 343 basically dumped it on them and paid them less to fix the game and ended up being outdone by these 3 smaller developer teams. These 3 teams are the only reason we can enjoy the MCC today, NOT 343!

Yea Halo Infinite being a crap show is really starting to make sense now
Its crazy to think that the only 3 games that 343 played the biggest part in ended up being the worst out of all of them. 4 with its bad artstyle and COD gameplay, 5 with the same thing but paired with the worst campaign in all of Halo and its disgusting microtransactions, and now we have Infinite which has good gameplay and a decent artstyle but the worst monetization seen yet and a story that has nothing to do with 5 but is a tiny bit better than it.

Right like the monetization wasn’t even like hey guys we are going to start off all player switch default colors for cores, weapons, and vehicles the same 60 you had in Halo 5, they will be the fresh paint version of those colors. And you will be able to grind for their more worn veteran look.
That alone would have been hours of content…
You know what’s sadder… Even cod let players have all the same default skins to unlock for free. All the Microtransaction skins are like unique different styles.
Halo Infinite is like hey guys here’s the basic color yellow but for the AR… There’s nothing unique about it … it’s just the generic yellow that you used to have for free but now it’s 10 bucks… For your armor. or weapon…
