Asymmetric Gametype Idea

One of my favorite asymmetric Halo gametypes was Invasion in Reach (followed by One Bomb/One Flag in Halo 3.) Spartans vs. Elites was novel and fun, and I would be thrilled if that mode returned.

I think a slightly tweaked version of Invasion would make a nice addition to Halo 5. (Obviously it can’t be done at this point.)

This gametype would have an attacking team and a defending team. Each member of the defending team would have a certain number of lives. That team’s goal would be to survive until the time limit. The attacking team’s goal would be to kill the defending team before time runs out.

As with Invasion, I think maps would have to be individually tailored to the gametype (with defensible positions for one team and offensive weapon spawns for the other), so most of them would likely be Forged.

If Halo 5 lets us change an individual team’s traits to make an asymmetric gametype, I’d be excited to play something like this.

Normally I’d be making an anti-sprint thread, but I thought I’d try something else for a change.

I’d like a Generator Defense style gametype.

One team has a Generator(s) to defend. The other team has to destroy it. If they destroy it, they win the round, otherwise round plays out until time limit.

Swap teams after the round, then the team that has the fastest destruction time wins.

In general they need a good asymmetric attack/defend gametype. One were when you complete an objective a pelican flys down drops off some heavy weapons and maybe a tank, add more realism instead of a 75 ton tank appearing out of nowhere.
