My Assist commendation in the campaign has been stuck on forever at 6. Does the assist function work differently in the campaign than in MM or Firefight?
There are plenty of opportunities throughout the game where standoffs and joint kills occur, and I’m sure I’ve had a lot more assists than 6.
Can anyone offer some insight to what I’m not getting or improving on it?

Are you playing alone? You probably need another human player.
Sigh, sometimes this game makes me feel very stupid.
Pajama Dad, you’re right it’s a co-op thing. I have to admit to thinking (the stupid part) that assisting an AI would count towards that.
Yup, you need another player. “Assisting” the AI in getting the kills only results in the game crediting the kill to you anyways. Also, Wheelman medals don’t count towards the Assist commendation - only Assist medals will work.
