Assigned to other console

A friend just gave me a specialization code and none the specs show up. I’ve reinstalled it, deleted the update, cleared the cache restarted the Xbox and signed in and out. And when i put it in my dowload que from the computer it says assigned to other console.

Has anyone that has received codes from someone other than Xbox gotten them to work?
I don’t know what to do, any help would be appreciated

It’s probably assigned to whatever console your friend uses. When I put in my code, I was using my little bro’s console. It told me that it was “assigned to another console” so when I had access to my usual console, it downloaded and everything is fine.

You might try signing into your profile on his xbox and seeing if that works. You might even try putting your profile onto an external, sign in on his xbox, download the thing to your external, and plug it all back into your xbox if the first method doesn’t work.

Try this too, I got this message for a theme then did this ^^^ and the theme downloaded. And boy was I mad when I didn’t have that theme, not specialization mad but still mad. (sarcasm) Seriously do what MJ said^^^.

From where do I select storage device? If I go in to recent downloads I don’t get that option

Hey I had this same issue. Xbox support helped me fix it, they’re awesome. Here’s how…

Go to system settings, storage, PROFILES
Delete your Gamertag profile (PROFILE ONLY)
Now go back to where you select your storage device. Hit ‘Y’ to clear the cache
Now reboot your Xbox
Now hit the center X button on your controller and recover your profile
Go to account management (all the way to the right after hitting the center x button)
Go to download history, and re download it (it should download now)

Im at work now, but ill definitely do this when i get off. If i do it, i wont lose anything off my profile right?

Ya you should be fine, I didn’t lose any DLC, game saves, etc. just make sure when you delete it you select “profile only”
