Assault Rifles feel weak

I don’t know if it’s just been a long time since I played a Halo game but the Assault Rifles feel Very week compared to the Side arm you get starting every match. I understand that the AR is supposed to be for close/close mid range, but when I am constantly getting enemies does to very low health only to find that I run out of bullets (could be my being crap at aiming) and they end up killing me with 2 shots to the head (over exaggeration). If this is just me please feel free to disregard. That and I feel like the grenade throwing distance is kinda weak. Again could just be me, could be a bug idk. It doesn’t seem to be that way all the time so maybe I am doing something that would make it go longer or shorter on throw?

To add a suggestion for the Commando Rifle, instead of 20 rounds in the mag could there be 25-30? again I understand that it is a heavy(er) hitting AR than the normal one and is made for a little bit longer distances but 20rds just feels too little.

I’ve actually found the AR, pistol combo to be the best in bot slayer. I hammer into the bots to lower shields and then switch to pistol to pop them in the head.

the AR actually feels pretty good if you burst it and the commando is pretty good if you don’t scope with it. It kicks like a mule though if you go auto.
