Assault Rifle has too much range, AND is accurate at long ranges. Almost any time I’m trying to use a Battle Rifle, the other player uses an AR to quickly descope me all the time and kill me easily while I’m having trouble with a dedicated medium to long range weapon. What does not help is that everyone starts with an AR. The AR at this point is just an automatic BR, that everyone spawns with. ON TOP OF THAT, headshot multipliers on automatic weapons? Come on bro, why change stuff that wasn’t broken. This makes the AR even more overpowered. IMO headshots should be reserved for either burst non explosive weapons, or single shot non explosive weapons.
How I would fix this- Make the AR really good at short ranges, and make it very inaccurate at longer ranges. It is an automatic weapon that everyone spawns with for close ranges over all the Halo games for a reason. And to be honest, I don’t think at this stage of game development you guys can get rid of headshot multipliers for automatic weapons, so like yeah rip. Pls somehow balance this weapon out I’m begging you
It takes full clip at mid range to kill someone. I didn’t mind it. Though I prefer using the BR and the commando over the AR.
-0 spread on first shots
-narrower max spread
-slower time to reach max bloom
-instant bloom reset
-2x headshot multiplier
-1.4x zoom
no idea why it was turned into a ranged weapon, either way its likely getting nerfed before launch. if us casual players are this divided about it then imagine the pushback from pros.

The problem is if you nerf it then the pistol will be better than the assault rifle. It’s fun to use rn but the ttk is too fast I don’t know what the fix is. Maybe no head shot multiplier until shields are broken would work, but then how do you balance that with the pistol?
