Assault rifle question

How do they aim in the halo universe with the assault rifle and hit shots with accuracy? I dont know if it says somewhere in the lore or the books how they do it but, from halo 1-4 the assault rifle doesn’t have iron sights, so does anyone know how marines or ODST’-Yoink!- shots with accuracy?

Lore wise I believe they have integrated HUD/aim inside their helmets. I remember reading it from one of the books, I think it was Fall of Reach. Someone will correct me if I’m wrong though.

That’s pretty much the answer. Due to every human serviceman/servicewomen (in military service) having a neural lace it uploads tactical data to their helmet’s hud/visor which in turn feeds info like ammo count and crosshairs allowing them to aim down range.

Some Assault Rifles also had built in iron sights, but a good majority of the UNSC had aim assist HUDS.

The Hud in all helmets has a target locater. Marines had a small optical hud (about the size of a credit card), while ODSTs and Spartans had full visors.

Ohhh reading all of yalls replies, that makes sense. That must be what that green little eye piece the marines have in Halo CE is for then. Thanks guys
