when i played the e3 version the Storm Rifle was boss, but theyre saying that the Assault Rifle is better…???
Most people used BR or DMR in the videos but from the few people willing to try it out it looked like the storm rifle shredded people up close.
The storm rifle has me going, I heard they might let you scope with it like ODST’s smg, but hey, rumors are rumors.
For now though, I am leaning towards the storm rifle.
From what I’ve seen, the SR kills faster than the AR, but it leaves you shooting at an unshielded opponent for a bit longer, while the AR takes more time to remove a shield, it will take about 6-7 rounds to finish the job. Plus the AR is hitscan.
In short, the SR kills faster. Don’t know about the supressor though.
I saw a below average player take out 2 BR users close range with the AR.
I don’t know about others, but that’s fairly decent, to me at least.
hmm… im doing this because my sister is 10, and she really likes Halo (she can kick my butt sometimes, but shes not a t-bagger or anything, shes pretty mature) and i just wanted to help her with her loadouts to at least give her a fighting chance since she like cqc

If I’m thinking of the same video that guy was a little above average. Unless of course your idea of average is Walshy or something.

I saw it too, the first guy missed almost all of his shots and the second one got shot twice before attacking the player.
The AR is almost just like Reach’s.

Oh, good point. But you don’t have to reload with a SR. I guess it’s all about one’s personal taste.

Plasma bolts are delayed. So its shorter range than an AR.
AR > SR Travel distance
I wish the storm rifle had a UNSC counterpart.
Dont forget the Suppressor too though. It’s also automatic.

Ah, you’re a nice brother(sister?). Like some others said, it may just be personal preference. But from what I’ve seen of the AR, it’s pretty beefy up close. But that being said, I havn’t seen much storm rifle gameplay.
Whatever you choose I hope you and your sister enjoy the game.
I hope the suppressor and Storm Rifle have higher DPS to make up for the lack of accuracy that comes from hitscan that the AR enjoys.

Not sure, I’d say average would be how I play on some odd days. uuh the only real distinctive part of the video was him coming up with some excuses or complaining about reloading when he wanted to hit or vice versa
