Assault Rifle will get nerfed if community wants it to. this is very early days of beta so keep whining.
My opinion is I still havent played enough of it yet to decide
But yes AR needs to be toned down from what iv played.
What do you think?

It’s ridiculous
It seems to excel in close ranges, as it should, and looks to fare decently in mid range, but a BR or DMR should easily take out someone using an AR, assuming the person using either of the former is a decent shot.
Yeah the AR is really annoying me. I actually just raged quit a game. Also. Quickscoping. There is a lot of snapshots and quickscopes, something about the new sniper makes it super easy to aim, 343 need to do something about that.

You would think, but in my experience when you are being shot while holding a BR or DMR whether you are scoped or unscoped 343 added flinch, making it more difficult to aim at an AR charger.
No it’s pretty balanced.

They didn’t add flinch. When you’re scoped, getting shot de-scopes you. When you’re using hipfire, your aim doesn’t flinch as it did in Halo 4.

I know it descopes you like it did in every other Halo before Halo 4, but I could definitely feel my aim being thrown off while being shot. Are you sure there is no flinch?
No! It’s actually useful.
yeah ar is op as fuhk. Fix that and give us br spawns and the game will be perfect.
343 thought the best way to balance the AR was to up its’ damage by an absurd magnitude and give it a zoom-in function.
The AR is OP. Please tone it down a notch or five, 343. I wish you’d have just given it a headshot multiplier.

Yes. Your aim isn’t actually being diminished or thrown off due to some mechanic. You might simply be misinterpreting the visual effects that occur when taking damage as such, but it’s not actually affecting your crosshairs. That, or the way the weapon swings and/or rises when firing, strafing, thrusting, etc. might be what’s lead you to believe that.

There’s no qs’ing… The sniper is EXTREMELY SLOW, The scope in animation, and the RoF are really slow.
Heck no. AR is perfect the way it is. BR and DMR still kill quicker thanks to headshots, but the disparity between the 2 isn’t ridiculous anymore.
It’s hard to say if the AR is OP or your gun just jerks way tooooooo much when getting shot by it. That’s my main issue, IMO its the worst thing 343 has brought into halo. Get rid of the ridiculous flinch while getting shot and it wouldn’t be too bad IMO. I’m still confused on why 343 just loves flinch so much…
If you’re interested in solid feedback in this Beta when it launches officially, I suggest signing for the Feedback Program at: https://halowaypoint.com/feedback .
But, other than that, I personally prefer picking up an SMG over the AR. It feels a lot better to play with.
The problem isn’t the weapon damages. We have no -Yoink!- health and the shields aren’t strong enough. You can’t stay alive enough to have the chance to kill more than one person in a group like you used to.
Let us avoid opinions here and stick to fact shall we. So only those who have played should offer comment.
First, does AR make you flinch or not? “Yes” or “no”, not “I feel like”.
Second, are kill times actually faster? In a controlled experiment, would letting someone point blank AR/BR/SMG/Pistol you really kill you faster when done with the same weapons in say H2A, H4 Reach or H3? Once again its “Yes” or “no”, not “I feel like”.
Third, how much does aim assist play in this game? Could it be that you’re missing shots because aim assist has been nerfed, which I have heard some players say. Is it “more” or “less” compared to H2A, H4, Reach or H3?
Well when somebody has time to do “Halo 5 Beta Preview Mythbusters”, call me.
On a side note, I think the buffed AR is to replace the SMG starts issue which I’ve heard being mentioned before. Rather than team BRs, we can have normal Slayer with ARs and finally avoid a power and precision weapon drought and getting spawn-camped. Balance and execution would have to be top notch though.

Yes, you do have health. The bar located beneath the shield bar is your health.
You’re in a team-based gamemode, and as teamwork seems to be more important now, I’m not surprised nor bothered by this. If you’re crafty enough, you most certainly can survive long enough to take out multiple opponents. It’s just more difficult to pull off now.
