Assault rifle needs to be able to get headshots

This is something that has always been needed in halo games. Let the players who know how to use the AR have the option. It’s kind of weird seeing headshot count when certain weapons cannot get headshots, anyway.

Too random a spread for headshot kills, luck would play too big a factor in a fight.

MAYBE, just maybe add a headshot damage multiplier only while in smart scope and only on unshielded targets? Something like 1.25 to 1.5x damage? I don’t really think it’s necessary since it seems to shred unshielded targets already (fine by me since it does in fact fire, as it has in every Halo game to date, armor piercing ammunition) but if you absolutely had to add something for headshots then a multiplier would be the best way to go.

If there’s any amount of bullet spread, it likely and shouldn’t get a headshot effect. There’s a reason it’s only been on the precision weapons.

Same here in that I’ve always used it, but just the way the gun’s accuracy works would hinder the addition. Someone who’s mashing the trigger still has that chance that one of those rounds will hit a guy right in his noggin and boom that’s a kill assuming the shield was already down. That’s what I’m saying is that the weapon is too unpredictable when not used by someone who uses it right.

There’s an element of luck with all weapons. No weapons shoots in exactly the same place, and even the battle rifle has its spread. By your logic, no weapons need headshots.

The gun is broken enough, what do you want to make it the auto sniper?

This is a perfect example of a -Yoink- player at halo who runs, sprays and spams the smart scope with the AR hoping for kills

True there is an element of luck with all weapons, and even in battle itself luck is a factor…doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be minimized when possible.

If you know how to use it, you don’t have to spray it. I nearly always go positive using the AR.

Precision weapons have always been reliable accurate that there is a great amount of consistency. Do not think I’m against you and your AR, frankly I am with you but the spread is just too much for autos to get a headshot bonus. Now if they had NO spread or had an extremely tight reticle bloom…
