If you compare it to kill times and or accuracy with the oh…lets say, the Battle Rifle in close quarters, you lose.
The AR is a CLOSE QUARTERS weapon! The bloom is so ridiculous you spend not half a clip but the whole clip on a player; In the mean time, you’ll die halfway through your magazine while you lay on the floor with a DMR round in your face.
The bloom and damage needs to be severely fixed.
Umm. Last night I did my best match with a total of 29 kills with the Assault Rifle as my primary weapon so it can’t be that bad.
I think it’s the best version of the AR since Halo 1.
AR can be pretty amazing, so I don’t think its too weak.
I think it’s just in how you use it.

No it is not the onle CQC weapon that are weak to me is the storm rifle, i never have a problem with killing some with the suprresor or AR, and of couse you cant just expect to run at someone spray n pray style with you gotta move a bit.

I’m burst firing and firing auto all at the right times, its just -yoinks- with the darn DMR and BR keep beating me even in CQC.
In CQB AR beats both DMR and BR with ammo to spare. Storm rifle and suppressor (I think) beat the AR in CQB.
Maybe you need to work on your aim? Because when I use the AR I’m going on killing sprees
I will admit, I WOULD go on killing sprees frequently if the AR fired a bit faster and if I didn’t get double or triple teamed every time I go to kill someone.

AR can spray down a target in one sustained blast. It kills as fast as it can put out rounds. The BR takes the same amount of time to put out its shots up close as it would 50 feet away. The only difference is that up close missing any rounds of the 5 solid BR hits it takes to kill is less likely from an average or better player.

This is by far the best AR we’ve seen yet.
In halo 3, if you were somewhat proficient with a BR, any AR player couldn’t beat you, no even 2 AR players could kill you.
Now, the AR is pretty evenly matched in the CQC, and if anything, I wish it weren’t as strong as I’m not a brilliant player, but I do consider myself not too bad and i’m constantly cursing at AR players
If the DMR gets nerfed than the AR will be usable.

That the bloom needs to be lowered. The bloom on the DMR retracts back to 100% accuracy in no time, the AR does not.
AR is strongest of any halo game, ever. Except maybe in halo 1. Cant say its weak; can only say its hard to find an opportunity to use it because of the DMR. its insane, really. If it werent for DMR abuse id go so far as to say its overpowered.
