The Assault Rifle feels too good. From what I have read the TTK on it is 1.2 seconds while the Battle Rifle’s is 1.55 seconds. Couple good damage with a headshot multiplier and moderate accuracy at range when burst fired, the Assault Rifle just feels like a better Battle Rifle. The only exception is if you’re across the map in which case the BR is better but that is very situational. In my opinion the headshot multiplier should be removed (or toned down) and the bloom should be slightly reduced to compensate, this gives the Commando it’s own unique place in the game as the only full-auto gun with headshot damage.
If you don’t think it’s as effective as range as I claim, try playing against Spartan AI and see how quick they can beam you with AR’s. Once players become as good as bots with the AR tapfiring, I think it will completely dominate the weapon sandbox.
The AR finally feels like a useful weapon that helps many novice players to be able to defend themselves in multiplayer. I don’t think they should touch it in any way.
I don’t think it should be a bad gun you want to get rid of but it shouldn’t be as versatile as it is right now. You can very easily kill people at ranges that would have been precision weapon only range in previous titles. In Halo Reach for example an AR would win most of the time in close quarters but at mid/long range it wasn’t viable, that’s how it should be.

Novice players novice players should be rewarded for AR being overpowered.? Wow that’s some kinda logic there…
