Assault on the Control Room terminal homage to ALIEN (1979)

If you’ve seen the original ALIEN (1979), then you know what I’m talking about. In that movie the crew of the Nostromo picks up a distress call of unknown origin on a planetoid named LV-426. The arrive on the planetoid, discovering a crashed spacecraft, alien in origin no doubt. But it turn out that the distress signal is in fact not a distress, but a warning. Now in the Assault on the Control Room Terminal, an unknown craft crashes on Installation 04, putting out a distress call, 343 is unable to decipher the call. Now I think this is an awesome homage to ALIEN, don’t you agree.
Here’s the scene from the Terminal

Quite possible to be a homage, wouldn’t be the first to another Sci-Fi story. The ship in that terminal appeared to be connected to Precursors, though. If Precursors weren’t on the ship, maybe someone took theirs?
/wild theory.

Man I love the frist Alien movie that was a great tribute but that not the frist time they did a Alien tribute even Bungie had a good number of Aliens tributes in Halo CE though Reach. In the Halo 2 Collector edition’s Conversations from the Universe booklet: Guilty Spark said other aliens races visted Installation 04 long before the Covenant and Humanity and that ship looks like the ships near the Jackal homeworld in Halo Legends.

Very true. The most obvious and recent one I can think of is in the mission Long Night of Solace in Reach, there is a dialogue from one of the other Saber pilots and he’s all like “Yahoo! In space, no one can hear you scream!”, or something very similar to that effect.

don’t forget, that sergeant major johnson and the marine armor in halo CE are basically references to Aliens…>.>

Also, OP, I never noticed that before.
