Assault in Halo 5 vs Assault in past games??

I understand Assault was in the game since Halo 2 and ever since then added into Halo from there besides Halo 4 and ODST, but my overall question for you guys is why did Assault in Halo 5 change so much to the point of it core aspects are not there? I remember a round based objective gametype, mind you that it wasn’t built for competitive play, that players take an actual bomb and not ball and plan out their way to donate it within the enemy base. In Halo 5 its just like Grifball but not set on instant detonation. I f feel as if the gamemode was altered to just get it released out to the community.

For those who don’t quite know hwat the older gametype was like I will explain. In Halo 2-Reach, Assault was a round based game that deals with players attacking and defending an objective, that objective was to take a bomb into enemy territory and plant the bomb. By planting the bomb, the attacking players had to defend the bomb until it detonation, once the bomb blew up, killing enemies and allies alike, the round ended, thus repeating but with the team switched. The game had 4 rounds and the team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

In Halo 5, the objective to this is quite simple. Players take a bomb to the enemy base and stand there in the circle and wait for a few seconds and after the ball detonates it just resets and the players continue until 3 plants are made. There are no repercussions to this gamemode, players don’t die when the ball goes off, its not round based, and there isn’t any real strategy to the gametype and makes Assault look like a joke. I personally don’t understand why 343 changed it so much in Halo 5, they even added a spotting mechanic to the game that makes it easier for players to spot the enemy with the ball when they should be paying more attention to the surrounding area anyhow.

I don’t know but I hope that things will revert back to what they are actually meant to be instead of the alteration because I feel that it wont give me the sense of actually playing a gamemode that I expect on how it should be played.

Does anyone else think about this? Or are you fine with Halo 5’s Assault as it is?
