So, from what I can tell the assault carbine IS actually (contrary to what I’d like) an automatic covenant carbine.

You can see it inthis video.

It’s the covenant rifle that DOES fire automatic.

covenant storm riffle or the new plasma repeater

I think what you are talking about is the Storm Rifle. It is the replacement for the plasma rifle.

That weapon is the Sorm Rifle, the replacement of the plasma rifle.
