In the sparkcast they said the assault carbine has been in other halo games but it’s a new version. There is only one choice seeing as how the br, ar, and dmr have already been confirmed. It’s the covi carbine. Anyone else hear them talk about this?

I think it might have automatic fire like the reach needle rifle.
It can’t be a Covenant or Forerunner weapon.
It’s a Spartan Loadout, therefore an UNSC weapon. Remember, MP = simulations aboard the UNSC Infinity.
Also 343 said that similar weapons were in previous games but more had the role of “shield depleters”, where the AC is a killer this time around.

No it’s not, in the GI article it is mentioned separately from the Covenant Carbine, my guess would be a new version of the SMG or the Plasma Rifle/Repeater.

True but don’t count out covi or forrunners weaponry from loadouts, if it’s simulation then they could encourage the use of it to prepare you for situations where you may have to use it in the field.
actually I believe the Assault carbine is the needler rifle, and if not then its most likely the Spiker since their both listed as carbines according the Halopedia. The GI magazine made it clear that the Covie carbine is not the same as the assault carbine, as they had both when playing the game.
They’re different weapons. Why would the change the name to assault carbine? That’s just dumb.
It’s either the MA5K Assault Carbine from Ghosts of Onyx, the modded Covenant Carbine from Headhunters, or a newer version of the SMG.
Err…they said its gameplay is like a previous weapon but its more of a shield depleter and not for headshots (they specifically said headshots) which the carbine excelled at. Its possible the AC is the weapon shown on the latest OXM, but thats not proven yet. Also, the covenant carbine was mentioned as a seperate weapon in GI.
But given evidence, its likely a smg/plasma rifle/repeater replacement.

Assault Carbine sounds like a human weapon to me. I think its a redesigned SMG.

It has been specifically said that the OXM weapon has not been talked about previously, so it cannot be the assault carbine. Carbines are also smaller versions of an original weapon, and that BFG is not small in any way.
Its most likely a smaller assault rifle- thats what a real carbine is. Covenant Carbine is actually a marksman rifle

That would make me a very happy camper. I’ve always been interested in this gun and wondered why it still hasn’t made an appearance in the games.
it’s an SMG bra
Sounds like an interesting weapon, especially if you team up a player using the Assault carb9ine with a player using a HS-capable weapon like BR or DMR, you’ll drain the shields fast while the other guy (or gun) can score an easy HS and finish teh fight.
I’m glad to finally have a good shield-killing gun that is not horrible (like most plasma weapons).
