Take Notes from Ragnarok. This game looks like what I expected Halo Infinite to be in terms of Landscape variety and mechanics. And with the Rich lore of Ancient Humans and Forerunners, many of these features are possible.
-
The Deep hued Green Nordic forests and lowlands and coastal Regions belnd into Wintery Highlands. Halo. Needs. To. Do. This. It looks exactly in Ragnarok what I expected Halo to Have in terms of landscape variety, fortresses, havens, artifacts and more.
-
Multiple new enemy types, with unique abilities/themes that the player can hijack for themself such as stealing Banished armor plates as a shield, augmenting a warthog with a HARPOON, taking a Booster Rocket from a Banished Drop pod and using it to dispatch a Banished Convoys, Upgraded tanks, using Covie or Forerunner tech to make a Hovering warthog that can float over water leading to better gameplay in Coastal regions, lakes, rivers and swamps
-
Make a Giant Banished platform on a lake that you drop off to from a Pelican with some ODST’s to recover a Data core from a UNSC ship that has Intel on a new region/biome that drives th story forward etc etc
-
Hard light Upgrades to armor, weapons or vehicles etc
-
Ability to take enemy powers ( make this a feature in Infinite where you can obtain Forerunner “powers” or abilities by defeating Sentinels or other specific beings that UnSC scientists can use to enhance your armor.
-
Artifacts ( We should be able to capture Forerunner
or Other factions Artifacts and use them to unlock areas, ships, fortresses, and upgrade our armor, equipment and provide data on new regions on a map. -
The verticality of the levels should have platforming. For example: Let’s see two "floating Islands, one above another with a waterfall flowing down, with floating hexplates and cliffs with outcroppings, where you have to navigate to the New region through specific challenges along this barrier between regions that shows off the landscape from above, not just empty rock mountains.
-
Instead of “power seeds” let’s get some type of Forerunner key card type thing or information cube or data Key that doesn’t have to be carried with your hands but is mounted to your hip or backpack. Quake does this quite well.
-
Let’s see mountaintop fortresses at high altitudes with complex features
-
Look at the sections in the Ragnarok trailer right when he jumps on the horse ( when the wild boar is show ), it has nice variety of Biome and foliage at the lower levels and changes throughout the game, not just Nordic Pine or PNW. Ruan Jia’s Infinite Art showcases such nice variety of more Swampy/jungle/forest lowlands and foliage variety.
-
Ragnarok has the players discover “Shelters” in the forerunner-esque dwarven caves where you start missions from places where protagonist NPC’s are located. Halo Infinite could EASILY do this, introduce the Ancient Humans taking refuge in Forerunner structures they gained access to and these will serve as more interesting bases than FOB’s.
