One of my favorite additions to the Halo series was assassinations and I hope to god there pretty awesome in Halo 4. IMO there is nothing more then those kind of kills to make you feel like a total boss.
One thing I always thought that was missing in Reach with assassinations was that they all felt too human (CR). Most if not all those kind of assassinations can be dealt by just a normal person. There were only a couple that actually made you feel like you went beyond a humans capability’s. I’m really hoping the assassinations actually make you feel like a spartan, maybe snapping bones in single strikes or just doing actions most people can’t do. The newest Turok has been my home for assassination type kills, some of the best in that game.
Yeah, stabbing the top of a guys skull with a knife THROUGH the helmet is kinda silly.
I sure hope there are better ones! The one in the GI pic is…meh. I mean, blue dude is on the ground with his arms up going “Wait a sec, bro!” and Red dude is all Mike Myers. Not…that…great.
I hated the assassination mechanic because it would occasionally do it when I definitely wasn’t trying. I have even lost a game specifically because of it.
I hate assassination i mean it taken 5 sec to kill the guy during those 5 seconds you can get a yonik(however you say it) or be killed but it was cool for its time.

I understand but for example, one of the assassinations involves the player in front you to turn around and just simply stab him in the stomach. If I’m wearing a ton of armor and I have the strength to pull it around, I want an assassination to feel like my knife has 2000 pounds behind it and see what can done besides a simple stab to the abdomen.
I’d like if there were an option in a menu to disable/change the assassination button. There are some situations where I’m not going to want to go for them, no matter what, and don’t want to go for the beat down and accidentally get sucked into an extended animation. Kinda like how you can change the crouch button, to push/toggle. You should be able to disable your assassinations, or have an option so you need to hold down the melee button even longer before the assassination fires.
I really hhope they aren’t as random as they are in Reach, I wouldn’t mind them being completely removed though. It’s a waste of time and usually involve you losing a kill.

Maybe increase the time by like either a 1/4 to 1/2 a second could possibly fix it. I agree though on the toggle for it though, would be a nice if you could switch it to another button.

I agree with the stabbing through the helmet with a knife thing is silly.
Make more assassinations…every weapon should have their own assassination.
Depending on the angle in which you grab a player a different assassination should be performed. I’d love to see some MMA style assassinations. Like a Muay-Thai assassinations that includes knees to the body and face followed by knife to the heart.
