Assassinations.
Do you think they should return to Halo 4, or not? Personally, I think they’re the one part of Reach that Bungie implemented properly, and it would be [sad] to see them not included within future games.
Assassinations.

i hope they stay.
I want them to stay, but to be a little more fast, because they are to slow; That your kill can be stolen. They are to slow; That you can be killed.
It would be nice to see them in Halo 4.

They should return, but the horrible wonkyness from Reach’s assassinations should be fixed. “I just shoved a knife through your skull. Oh wait, someone just shot you in the foot, yeah that totally was the reason for your death, not the knife logded in your brain.”
I’d love to see assassination to make a return. However, once you initiate one, that is your kill. If anyone steals it from you, you get the credit and anything associated with it, while the robber gets nothing.
I hope they stay, I like that they can be interrupted or stolen too.

I know what you mean, but I still think it should stay the way it is, you clearly haven never had the satisfaction of YOINKing someone.
In all honesty though, how is there a bad side to assassinations?
They should definitely stay!
I hope they keep the long animation times though, so you have to decide whether it’s worth it, or just to give them a back smack. If it’s something you can pull off with no risk it will lose its appeal for me.
If the games is going to have assassinations. Make it like Gears of War 3. Where each weapon has its own unique execution move. So for Halo each weapon can have its own unique assassinations move.

This
They need to make it faster or remove it all together… Just make it where the model shoots the other model in the back of the head quick like.
The sword animation is really cool and fast also.
Believe it or not, I don’t enjoy assassinations and don’t like using them. It annoys me how easy it is to use them accidentally.
That said, they are obviously popular so I think they should return BUT I think there should be an option in the menu to turn them off. It wouldn’t be difficult and everyone would be happy. Make the animations faster, make melees a little slower and bam, suddenly it makes things a little more even.
i hope they stay to, but your team members should be able to save if u got assassinated.
I hope they dont return. And if they do at least activate it by double tapping the melee button so youre still able to do a simple backsmack

Let me first start off by saying, I am in no way attacking you, most of the time you bring up very good points I agree with, this just happens to be one of those times you didn’t.
I liked Assassinations, and what I don’t get is how they are so easy to do it accidentally. I’ve never ONCE had this problem. If I want to just back smack someone I can, if I want to assassinate I can, I have that choice. I’ve never had a problem where I wanted to assassinate and I just back smack, and I’ve never ran into a problem where I just wanted to back smack and I started assassinating.
As to the person who said “Your team should be able to save you if you get assassinated.” They can, it’s called a Showstopper.

No problem. I know there are a lot of people who haven’t had this problem. Everytime someone brings up this topic and argument starts, it’s nice to see someone being civil about things. I have heard of enough people having the problem to think that something should be done about it. When I thought it was just me I never brought it up but I think it’s causing problems for enough people that it is a bit of an issue.
Having the current system is fine (as long as it’s refined a little) but I see no harm in giving people the option to turn it off a little. That said assassinations has a good place in balancing. It stops you scoring easy kills from behind by leaving you exposed. My answer to this would be to speed it up a little, in Reach they were a bit too long but they need enough time that there’s still a risk involved, and slow down melees, I keep seeing people say that melees are overpowered and I think slowing them down could help both that and allow the old one hit kill from behind without making it a better option than assassinations.
Basically I think assassinations should be handled in a way similar to say, Armour Effects. An aesthetic flair that’s there if you want it but not forced upon you. Make it the default but have the option to turn it off.
They should definitely return. To me, assassinations were one of the most fun things in the whole game. It’s all i do now, assassinate. Would be a shame if they left them out in Halo 4. And as to the Gears 3 post earlier, i don’t think every weapon should have it’s own assassination. I mean, thats a HUGE challenge. I think they should be put ito groups. Each group of weapons would have an assassination of it’s own. And that excludes the other assassinations. You know, how in Reach the animation depended on where you meleed the enemy, in mid-air, right shoulder, centre of the back, from the air, etc. Weapons would be split into groups like: Long Range, Automatic, Heavy and such. Each group would have it’s own assassination, which could only be performed by, for example, meleeing someone in the centre of their back. That’s just my opinion.
Sorry for the long post.
I would like to see them return but make a different assassination for every weapon more like gears of war 3.
definitely. add more, in fact.

Problems with this:
A. You repeated yourself 3 times in 1 sentence.
B. Assassinations were completely optional, you could just tap the RB/B to get a beat down
C. Yoinking should never have been put into the game. (god knows how many team-kills I’ve racked up)
That’s all.
Also, Assassinations should go first=person, so much more exciting! It’s what makes the BF3 assassinations so good!
