Assassinations in Halo 5 Guardians

Should assassinations return for Halo 5. I Hope so

They probably will. But I don’t use them often because of the risk they persent. They can easily allow another player to achive a yoink or double kill. Or in the worst case allow that player to get a victory. When that could of been yours if the assassination had been complete.

I love them myself. Adds that extra bit or personal ownage to the kill. Of course there are people that argue that’s wasteful, but I don’t try to assassinate people in the middle of firefights.

Personally I think the melee system could certainly use a cosmetic upgrade. For example, meleeing a shielded enemy would result in the characteristic bash that we know and love, but meleeing unshielded opponents would result in a variety of swift first person actions (that occur in the same amount of time as a typical melee), like a rapid punch to the heart or a quick knife under the chin; all these animations a la Skyrim first person.

Assassinations of course would be carried over when holding melee while executing a backsmack, but should have a player-specific toggle option to avoid accidentally launching an unwanted and risky animation.

i would love to see this as well as sprint this helped halo 4

Yes and they should be A LOT faster.

I don’t mind having assasinations in H5 but if I would chose to have them then I’d say “have them toggled”.

For competetive play assasinations were a great way of “teabagging” someone but it slowed things down and it allows the enemy team to get a quick kill on you hence you can’t move whilt performing it. There are alot of times where you assassinate by mistake in H4/Reach

Thought it’s a great feature for social play where time and skill and a win doesn’t matter as much as in competetive. Fun is the main goal there and assassinating someone in a cool/fun way to punish someone or to show of is great.

I’d suggest that it can be toggled on or off in game options and that it has a cool animation and has a reasonable time of execution.
I’m not saying that they are bad, I’m saying that it’s both good and bad.

I’d like an option to toggle it. It doesn’t need to be removed but I prefer the simple backsmack.

I would like to see them return, but I don’t like how you have to play the full animation for it to be called an assassination. In Halo 4, a melee to the back would still instant-kill someone, but it didn’t count as an assassination. If they do return for Halo 5: Guardians, I would like to see 343 change it so a melee to the back still counts as an assassination, and it just becomes an added insult to do the full, brutal animation.
