What are your thoughts about the Assassinations gametype in general, and more specifically the assassination community (in which makes up a HUGE portion of the Halo Reach population in regards to custom games).
I myself am an above average in this gametype, considering the fact that Assassinations takes up most of my time in Halo Reach. Being max rank provides little incentive to enter Matchmaking however I still play competitively from time to time.
The physics of Reach make assassinations popular and armor effects can be utilized without disadvantages present. (Flaming helmet carrying the burden of being an easy shot/easy to spot).
The community is… well… Egoistic to say the least, my self included. Players disrespecting other players the moment they engage in “combat”, and if you kill one person, their affiliates, friends, etc… Are soon to be flooding your proximity, attempting to kill you again and again.
I’ve been part of the Assassinations community for more than enough time to know that the majority see displays or gestures in game (crouching, throwing grenades, cheapshotting) as drama, and then arguments and messages to all friends and recent players (MTAFRP) flaming a particular individual or a clan, etc. For x, y reasons. I see this as, well a distraught way of seeing a gametype as more than it is, a gametype. There also players whom utilize the service tag function to display emotion (SAD, MAD, BRKN, LONE, NITM, PISD, DONE) which is odd but to each their own. Also accompanying this faction is the players who utilize terms such as BK and rekt.
Despite all this, I find myself playing assassinations all the time on Reach.
