I would love to see the Spartans knives return to the torso instead of the “wrist” compartment they have now.
It would also be cool if just how you can currently choose a different assassination, you could choose a different style knife (EG. Kukri, tanto, bayonet, hawkbill, etc.)
Main question; why?
Having the knife in the wrist mount is far easier than having it be on the actual armor. Faster retrieval and use, less chance for loss in combat.
Same goes for the type of knife (which honestly sounds borderline Battlefield-melee weapon style). The UNSC combat knife is a self-sharpening titanium-A alloy blade thats more than capable of penetrating pretty much everything out there (Chief uses his to punch through Covenant armor in Halo 4 remember, hanging off the side of a Lich). With the brute strength of a Spartan, they wouldn’t need anything else. Assuming of course a Spartan NEEDS a blade, as we see quite aptly in several of 5s assasinations.

I’m actually fine with the wrist compartment in the end, my problem is I can’t see it on the armor sets themselves.
As too choosing different knife styles, It’s just another way of making your Spartan more personalized.
Another example would be the ability too ad scratches and dents too your armor.

You cant see it because it slides in and the armor folds over it. Its an internal compartment, at least, according to Escalation.
And scratches I could see being a more viable customization option, since you cant really look at your knife while your using it.
Having the knives stored in the wrist compartments allows for quick access and storage when the situation calls for it; It’s quite practical in a combat setting. Even Assassin’s Creed accomplished a similar thing with its trademark hidden blades.

And the Republic Commandos had a similar idea with the wrist-blade that their armors had, though I don’t believe it came out fully.
Now there’s an idea…Spartan gauntlets with intrinsic blade holsters.

I made a thread about a Hidden Blades… It did not go that well.
