Assassination Kill Stealing.

I’m getting more and more irritated when it comes to people stealing your kills when performing an assassination.

If you really enjoy assassinating in multiplayer as much as I do then you know what I’m talking about when a teammate steals your kill during an assassination animation.

It just ruins the whole excitement now especially since you can unlock new assassination animations. 343i should fix this so that when the animation is playing that kill is YOUR kill.

Obviously being the “showstopper” isn’t a problem when saving a fellow teammate when they’re about to get assassinated.

Just something I wanted to rant about to see if anyone else here agrees with me.

I agree. It happens WAY too much. You could always turn off the animation itself…even though that is the whole point. It will at least give you the kill. A lot of competitive players seem to do this to prevent getting killed during the animation.

Yeah I know what you mean, I’ll continue assassinating and just keep hoping 343 will do something about it so you don’t get your assassination kills stolen.

Learn from Gears of War, 343!
Once you initiate an execution in Gears the enemy is considered killed. Even if a teammate shoots the enemy while you are raising your boot to step on their head. Once the animation begins, the enemy has been killed by the person who started it.

They can’t do that because there are still those few seconds during the animation that allows the enemy to be saved by their teammate. If they’re considered killed once the animation begins, then they can’t be saved.

Stealing or not, a kill is a kill that will go toward your teams score. Just dont be that guy who gets upset you HAVE to kill your own teammate because they stole a kill. -_-

Hilarious to do to randoms. Annoying when done to you. Lol

Assassination animations are a double-edged sword. They either help your save your friend or completely ruin the mood

I steal the kills all the time. Sorry but not really.

But I can’t get my YOINK medals if I don’t steal them :wink:

I can honestly say that I’ve never had an assassination stolen from me. I’ve started an assassination while my teammates were all shooting at him and they all stopped shooting at him immediately.

They should still award the medal and kill to the assassin, and give the stealer an assist

In GoW: UE , you can melee someone while they are getting chainsawed(by your partner) and down them, and steal the kill.

as for the Curb Stomp, you are correct. That’s how assassinations should be

Then you have extremely nice teammates. I wish my teammates were like that, but they rarely are.

There is no YOINK medal now though, which in my opinion is great. Though I did enjoy the announcer saying YOINK when you get that medal it sort of defeating the point of a teammate sneaking for who knows how long for that kill. Clearly, I’m one of the people that is slightly miffed about my teammates stealing my assassinations. It isn’t that big of a deal, but I’m so close to completing that commendation so I just want them for that.

and if you turn the assassinations off in the menus, it’s an instant melee kill. So screw the saving idea, just keep it consistent.

That’s the risk people take when performing assassinations. Either get the quick, instant kill melee or go for the flashy, drawn out assassination that puts you at risk of either dying, getting your kill stolen, or both.

Gotta love nearing the end of the assassination, the knife is buried deep in the enemies helmet then you get killed and your target stands up like nothing happened.

Happens so much so , that I disabled the animation which sucks because they look pretty snazzy

Do you still get the assassination “medal credit” if you turn off the animation?
