Assassination Glitch

So I have looked over some of the forums and have not seen any topics on this and I ask. Has anyone else been getting an assassination only to stop in mid assassination? I don’t mean being show stoppered but you just stop in it and the player won’t get beat down, but as though nothing happened.

Maybe it’s lag? I haven’t had it happen to me so i’m at a loss as to what causes it. I would think the main reason would be lag (on your screen it looks like he’s right there and on his screen he’s already jetpacked somewhere or sprinted away).

It happens often, mostly when you are on an incline. Happened rarely in Reach also.

It happens to me quite often, i think it may be due to lag because once the assassination breaks I’m usually getting assassinated from the person I just tried to .-.

this is why i always try and jump or sprint before an assassination, ive never been knocked out of an assassination where you tackle the guy.

I wondered the same thing for a while, and it always happened to me on flat surfaces.

It seems to me now that I simply was not holding melee long enough. I’m probably imagining this, but is that possible?

I see it all the time, and I never once saw it in Reach. Only time anyone seemed to escape in Reach was if the person assassinating them was killed.

It’s like if you’re both moving, and you move too far away from the initial assassination point, it just…ends and lets the person run away.

No, it’s just lag. Just like when it looks like youre shooting someone but youre really not.

Well for me it is happening to often now at first i thought it was lag but i think it is like the reach lunge suicide glitch but this has happened to me on anything flat, air, incline, walking, and running. I have a video on my file share of the first time it happened to me about 1 week after release

Here’s a firsthand example of it happening to me in Reach. [ I’m the one that gets the showstopper on my would-be assassin…

In both Reach and Halo 4 it has only ever happened to me when the two of us involved are headed down a slope of some kind such as a ramp, stairs or a hill. In the video above it was stairs obviously, I’ll take a few clips the next time it happens to me in Halo 4.

To me it seems like if the person being assassinated is on a lower level than you and you try to start the animation it pops you out of it because they’re unable to be in the right spot for the assassination to display properly. ](http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=20266296&player=xCrimsonLegendx)

Happened to my fiancé she went for the assassination the guy just popped out of it they both looked at each other and stuck each other out of confusion and panic…pretty funny
