That not even accused why 343 should add disable assassinations. Do the people realize that you have to hold the melee button to assassinated the player or AI?

Some people don’t even want to go into the animation even by accident. So now they can turn it completely off and not have to worry about it. Why is that a problem for you?

Me i love kd and think assassinations get stale quick and dont want to get killed or yoinked.
Speed runners will, so they don’t sit through the 3 second kill animation and waste time

If it was that consistent, the demand for the feature wouldn’t be high enough to get it implemented. Unintentional assassinations are something that is present at all levels of play, its clearly not something that can always be avoided when actively attempting not to. Whether it is a result of latency issues, bugs, or even quality and condition of the controller, holding down the button is just not reliable enough for many people.
I only like assassinations when I’m doing it to specifically insult someone. Otherwise, it takes FAR too long to get a kill. I’d rather have a quick kill.
i’ll be using them in warzone, customs and campaign, but not arena
I’m very happy about this! I made a thread about it a while back. It may seem silly, but I tend to get overly enthusiastic with my melees and accidentally trigger the assassination animation in the middle of a firefight. Glad I don’t have to worry about that anymore!
Nice small addition I think, though I’ll probably have it enabled more often than not. The risk is with the reward for me, and the new assassinations look pleasing to pull off~
That said, I know how it feels to be burned by an assassination you didn’t mean to do, so to those who don’t want to risk it - or just hated assassinations as a mechanic 'since Reach - will finally have the option to turn them off. Everybody wins 
I think we can all agree that the more we can customize our play style, the better.
I am glad that this option is now added in the game, the animation is too long to perform. There are times I hold down a button and instead of a quick melee it would be an assassination animation. Which can be cool, but when you’re in a tight area enclosed with enemies, that animation would cost you your life and zero you out.
Seems kind of weird, considering you can unlock assasinations trhough REQ packs. I can imagine all the people who disable assasinations getting pissed cause they keep getting new assasinations in their REQ packs.

Great news. Nothing’s worse than accidentally holding down the melee button for a nanosecond too long and being forced into a lengthy pre-baked animation during which time everyone under the sun is either out to kill you or out to steal your kill. Points to 343 for that decision.
Doesn’t this kind of break the game a little.
It’s just to tempting for me to not do it ever. And it is pretty cool when the enemy can’t manage to kill me while im sitting there stabbing someone.
