Pretty sure it was a troll thread on Gfaqs, but has anyone assassinated a Watcher? Is it even possible? It never occurred to me to try as there’s not really a determinable front or back to them and they’re always a few feet above.
I don’t feel like wasting an hour in Spartan Ops to test it and I couldn’t find any youtube proof.
If a watcher is the character that looks like a flying bicycle, then yes, i assassinated one on campaign and the animation is really cool.
Try doing it on cooperative so that it is facing your friend, jump or jetpack to it and assassinate it.
its possible. Most things that can be assassinated have 2 animations including watchers. I think the only thing that can’t be is the hunters. And thats probably do to the fact that its easy to jump over them and back smack.
There is a determinable from and back to them. I haven’t tried to yet, but seeing as how you can assassinate a crawler, I’m assuming you can assassinate a watcher.
at about 5 minutes is all of the promethian assassinations. the video goes through every one in game though, kinda neat.
You can, the spartan hangs off one wing and slices his knife right up throught the watcher.

Man, I went through the whole campaign on Legendary and the first 2 weeks of Spartan Ops without realizing this… not to mention Crawlers either! Good thing I have a day off tomorrow to try this.
I’ve done it 3 times today.
I haven’t done it yet, been trying to for a while.
I must do this.
Anyone with the “assassin” pose should’ve known this.

Yes it possible, I did it in Midnight. And yes, its awesome!
Played around on the 1st Spartan Ops mission in this week’s episode, finally did it! Over 2 or 3 games managed to assassinate 2 Watchers and a handful of Crawlers.
Took a while and it was hard to find the right angle of their back, but the animation was cool. I think the buckin’ bronco style Crawler assassination is my favorite.
A few of my friends have assassinated Watchers. I haven’t yet, though.
