Assasination Counters?

I get tired of seeing someone behind me on my radar right before they assasinate me. It sucks knowing that your death is imminent and inevitable because you dont have enough time to turn around. I was thinking that if the person getting assasinated sees the attacker running up and he reacts fast enough and holds his melee button,he would counter the assasination to get the kill. I was thinking he counters by ducking and flipping the attacker over on his back so that hes lying in front of him,then ensing it with a stomp to the head ,a knife to the neck,etc(the possibilities are endless). If this were to happen,id also hope that we would get to choose our own counter attacks like we do with assasinations. Would this be a good idea or no?

Don’t give 343 any ideas! They’ll make a counterattack themed update with 150 counter attack REQs.

In all seriousness, I just don’t see this working. If you see someone running up behind you, why would you turn your back to get assassinated?

No! It’s hard enough to get an assassination without it being stolen.

Well if you want to have a counter assassination themed FPS game. Try battlefield they do it well

I can only see this working in the way Battlefield 4 did it in that you can only counter such attacks from the FRONT. If the guy got behind you, that’s on you. You shouldn’t have an easy way out.

You can already do this in Halo, in a manner of speaking. If someone melees you from the front, you can still outplay them and win the engagement.

It’s not like Battlefield where you can do it from the front. In halo, you get assassinated because a guy was in your blind spot and instead of checking corners you sprint right past him or turn a blind eye. An assassination is just a fancy animation to remind your opponent that they let their guard down or didn’t look at the right time (90% of the time.) A lucky one on a distracted opponent also happens.

If they added counters, everyone would just turn off assassinations and do beat downs, which are the EXACT same thing but instantaneous, quiet, and don’t leave the opponent open to counter play.
