Aspect Ratio of Waypoint Videos

I was watching some of your more recent releases today, and noticed that some of the people speaking in interviews had the tops and bottoms of their heads missing. The picture felt small, and everything in it felt crowded and boxed in.

It was here where I noticed two massive black bars above and below the picture, indicating a probable aspect ratio of 2.4 to 1. Well… I have a 16x9 TV. My neighbor has a 16x9 TV. My other neighbor has a 16x9 TV. Most of the people in my family have 16x9 TVs. Only one household in my entire extended family doesn’t have one, and they have a 4x3 one instead.

Are you guys showing these Waypoint videos in theaters? What is it you’re trying to accomplish?

All of the videos are done in a standard resolution, 720p if I’m not mistaken. They add the black bars to give it a more theatrical feel, but they are included in the output of the video. It’s just the style they decided to use for the videos in question.
