Asking the Opinion of the Xbox Community

Hello everyone, I’m BitterestBread4 and I want your opinion. This is somewhat of a vent. I couldn’t think of anywhere else to post about this except maybe Reddit and I know the rules on some of the subreddits don’t really allow for posts like this, so that’s why I’m doing it here. Something had kind of been bugging me for awhile, my gamertag. I still use the one that Xbox issued me when I first made my account (BitterestBread4) and I’m wondering if that’s a bad thing. I kind of want to change it up eventually but I have trouble come up with clever or cool sounding usernames for anything. So let me know you thoughts and opinions.

Thanks,
BitterestBread4

Your gamertag is personal to you and you alone, mate. It doesn’t have to be clever or cool, just what you want it to be. You could always name it after something, like I did. I have all the Halo 3 Vidmaster achievements so I recently changed mine to VmasterRecon because I unlocked the Recon armour by doing so.

I used to be called sandcastle94 on xbox, I didn’t want that either so I tried to change it to Spam, but since it was already taken, xbox just changed it to whatever it is now, and I could not change it again for free. Guess I’m stuck with these numbers lol.

As for your name, something you can identify with I’d say.

I used to drive old beat up Subarus. I would have to patch the rusty corners of the car with fiberglass…

Hence Synthetic Corners, but GT only allowed for so many letters so I had to drop the last s.

My gamertag is actually a pun with my name and the word “macabre”. I like my puns like I like my pizzas: extra cheesy.

I still use my brother gamertag which he used when he owned his xbox 360 until I got it from him, I mostly kept it because all of my friends knew me as Sebbe29 (my name isn’t sebbe hahha) and If I remember correctly I had to use money to change gamertag so I decided not to change it. Like VmasterRecon said it should be something personal to you and it doesn’t haft to be clever or cool but my advice is to ask your friends what they think or what they think you’re good at or an achivement you manged to get which was really hard. (Like is you completed the LASO playlists in Halo MCC then you could be called LASOMaster64 or something)

I changed my GT to my name and my birthday date. It was available so I yanked it ASAP. If you want it you can also just put your name in there with some date or thing you like to be referenced or remember whenever you see your GT

I like extra cheese on pizzas and on puns.

mine is just what I got on the roll
and I like it that way

I make mine based on my principles and life goals, and it serves as a generalization of those concepts. I’ve changed my gamertag a few times as a result. It’s supposed to represent you, so consider what matters most and your passion will bring it out.

It depends on what you want people to remember you as and what you would want them to call you.
For example, your teammates in voice chat are probably going to call you bread. 'Hey Bread, the flag is on red base." it’s up to you to decide whether you want that or not.
With Xbox’s new GT system, you can be effectively whatever you want, even if the name is taken.
Oh, and don’t make the mistake i did, unless you want to be called something like "C-zero-balt"on occasion.

You and me are in the same situation, i cant make up a good gamertag so i can change mine

It’s very easy to make up a good gt, for example, what’s your favorite guitarist? My favorite guitarist is Nick Valensi and my Name Is Frankie, so, Frankie + Valensi = Frankie Valensi. See, very easy.
