Here is a link to 343’s livestream where they’re answering questions regarding the sandbox that were asked using #Ask343. Feel free to check it out.
Just to be clear, this says YouTube premiere. I think that means this is a video presented like a livestream, not an actual currently live Q&A.
Cool though, I just assumed the #Ask343 thing would be part of the next Inside Infinite blog.
it was pretty cool to be able to see the thought process and ideas behind the sandbox in infinite. Looking forward to playing it significantly.

Just updated the link! Thanks for the heads up.
Solid conversation, I wish it went a little longer.
I’m real happy with the info about equipment. Not an exact quote, but to summarize …
“There won’t be meters or points to fill up. They’re on the map, and if you defeat a player who had an equipment item, you can scavenge it just like their dropped weapons.”
Oh boy this is awesome. Keep up the good work 343!

So basically like they worked in 3

Yep, which lends evidence to a personal theory of mine. I’m pretty sure Infinite gameplay is going to fall on middle ground between H3 and H5, which I think would be perfect. Especially since those were the last two Halo titles that actually had Arena gameplay as the focus. (Reach and 4 both failed to meet my expectations for equal-start-arena gameplay, but they were still fun games.)

Thank you for sharing. I just listened to it and I was very happy to hear about vehicle damage affecting how they work. I’ve been harping on about damage in one form or another for years, good to hear something is happening on that front.
This was good, more like what I was originally hoping for from the blog. Really happy we got this.

Probably right. I think everyones hope is the best of 3 and 5.

i would like it more between 2 and 4
Better between 2 and Reach expect the DMR
Just got a chance to check out the #Ask343 stream. I was expecting some softball-esk questions and was surprised that there was only one or two. Clarified some areas regarding legacy weapons as well as how to earn equipment via combat (thank god it isn’t/wasn’t kill streaks/H4 system). I couldn’t agree more with the Lead Sandbox Designer regarding the Needle Rifle…honestly one of the few weapons in the sandbox that gets me excited. Overall I believe it was a great interview and left me wondering what are these other “totally new never before seen” weapons that are coming…
This was a super helpful interview that really answered some useful questions. Understanding that equipment functions the same as Halo 3’s arena style of finding pickups and power weapons makes me feel good. I’m surprised we got any real information other than hype too which I love. Learning that you can grapple the banshee was awesome news and leads to many interesting possibilities going forward. Even learning about the new vehicle damage system is awesome. I’m looking forward to more of these in the months to come, they are a nice way to break up the drought of information!
Yes, I hope they keep this up: Inside Infinite Blog → 2 weeks → Q&A focused on blog → 2 weeks → …repeat
