With Sotaro Tojima, the Audio Director for Halo 4 meaning he overlooks all Halo 4 sounds. The music composer is yet to be named, so I thought it would be fun to try and guess who he/she is. When we find out we can check this thread to see who guessed right, my guess is Nobuko Toda she worked on a number of the Metal Gear games and other games. She has also worked with Sotaro before.
My only hint is that he used to make music for Castlevania.
Hans Zimmer please
> Hans Zimmer please
Hopefully.
My guess would be Jack Hall for sure. He’s a well known gaming composer and left Bioware before Mass Effect 3 to “pursue other projects”, which wouldn’t make sense if after being the composer in the first two games. Unless, of course, he was a Halo fan (or a Halo music fan, which is entirely possible considering he has a website about gaming music which just so happens to have a Halo 3 background) and took the job after being offered it. It wouldn’t just be awesome, but it would make sense too.
Wouldn’t it be awesome if they were keeping it under wraps that Marty O’Donnell was doing it…that’d make my week.

Don’t fool yourself. The chances of that ever happening are infinitesimal at best.
Chuck testa
But who ever they employed, dont let it be hans zimmer
> Hans Zimmer please
i do like his music but i do not want him working on halo
> Hans Zimmer please
As much as I love Zimmer’s music, I don’t think it’d fit Halo very well.
am i missing something here? why can’t the audio director compose music? Wasn’t Marty O’Donnell an Audio Director and Composer?

Ehm Marty is From Bungie…i think u missed that bungie doest work on Halo anymore.
My guess for halo 4 composer - Stephen Rippy from Halo Wars, that is the only realistic guess i can think of

He is giving an example. Not saying Marty works for 343.
I just hope he’s got the balls to take on Halo music.
ummm…they have said multiple times that the composer is Sotaro Tojima, why does no one know this??? I’ve seen these topics like 1000000000 times.

Thank you for being able to comprehend words on a screen.

… AGAIN?!
> Introducing a new composer, and learning how to work with that composer, was part of the process. We’ll have more details about this currently unnamed individual in the future. But I’m guessing you already knew that…
-BS angel, latest Bulletin
Well, Jack Wall left Bioware shortly after Mass Effect 2 was released to work for an as-of-yet unknown company, and 343 Industries has an as-of-yet unknown composer. Timing-wise, it would make sense if it were Jack Walls.
Of course, he is an amazing composer too and the music in Mass Effect 1 and 2 was amazing stuff, simply brilliant work. His music, especially Mass Effect 1, sounded quite mysterious, but could be full of action too. That is exactly the type of music we need for Halo 4.
So, in short, my hope and bet goes for Jack Wall.

Exactly. If I had to bet I would say he’s the new composer.
If only it was John Williams…the guy who made the Star Wars soundtracks. That would be a great IMO.
Of course there are still others for the job.
If it doesn’t have a kick -Yoink- guitar solo in it I will be very ashamed! Please, 343 techno is great in all, but we need more guitar solo!
