This game will forever be the worst Halo. Camo still suffers from the same issues in Reach, except now with no sprint AA to devalue its power, it’s use has increased in frequency. I’m sick and tired of being sniped with no warning and getting shot from across a hallway with no warning.
Camo was so powerful in previous games that it was placed on the map as a power up. Who’s bright idea was it to give a player a power up? Would we tolerate it if a player could spawn with a Rocket Launcher or Overshield? Then why do we tolerate Camo.
Truth, if i get sniped one more time from inbetween some rocks on ragnarok by a dude in camo i’ll lose it.
Same goes with if another ghosts kills me in 0.1 of a second.
I preferred when Camo was just a Power Up or Equipment, which ever you want to call it. Only lasted 30 seconds and made the game much more balanced, in general Armor Abilities were a pretty awful idea, but they worked in Halo 3 because they were just temporary boost’s and abilities.
I am glad to see the Competitive Playlist/Team HardCore Playlist heading the route of having Armor Abilities on the map’s like Equipment was in Halo 3, very sparingly and not in Loadout’s.
It just makes the game so much more fun and balanced, I do not mind the craziness every now and then, but Camper’s will abuse anything they can and this is just so true :). So yes OP you are right on this subject and I am glad to see others thinking the same thing, this has been a on going subject that seems to be heading toward a resolution for everyone that wants to play something similar to Halo 2, Halo 3, instead.
Support the Competitive Playlist and lets see if we can also get a similar appropriate Big Team Battle Playlist also that will help Halo 4 improve, we are all friends here or we are meant to be in my opinion :).
The person responsible for making Camo a Armor Ability in the beginning was Bungie’s head of Multiplayer development for Halo Reach, even though 343i should of kept it as a Power Up, it’s one of the most useful Power Up’s and it had limited power as well.
Well, I feel that snipers are incredibly OP anyways, but recently I find myself agreeing that camo is in fact, OP. Unfortunately, this mass camo effect has LEAKED over into Reach, so usage as actually gone up there too. Now you see me, now you don’t! You can’t kill what you can’t see!
Since the whole goal is to shoot your target and you can no longer see them… the problem is clearly evident.
yes, I use it and know that it is way OP. Also…lately I’ve been seeing the no radar jammer glitch way too many times!
I don’t know how people are doing it but it is horrible! Glad that it’s not supposed to be part of the stealth perk but christ almighty…why does it happen?
It wasn’t placed on the map in previous games because it was too powerful. It simply wasn’t an armor ability because they hadn’t thought to add them yet.
You can’t say for certain. Either way, the powerup camo was far stronger than what we have now. You practically have to crawl to stay cloaked and even when you are, you’re half–Yoink- cloaked.
Old camo was practically full invisibility that you could jump around with.

Yes but you had to fight for it. You and your team actually needed to use your skills to obtain it, you couldn’t just press A to choose your camo loadout, x to respawn, and x again to sit and pick people off who can’t see you.
And after H2, when they gave you the Arbiter’s camo ability, why did they not give you a camo ability in matchmaking? Because they new it would be -Yoinking!- limited.
Don’t forget that the radar jamming on it is a freaking joke from Reach. Where you could barely tell if there was actually anyone running up on you. Not to mention you were ALWAYS on the map. Not only half of the time being truly invisible on both the damn map and radar.
In older games it wasn’t bad because camo was one guy and intermittent every few minutes. But now… Le sigh.

WAIT THAT WASN’T MY IMAGINATION??? FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
I had no idea such a glitch existed, that means I WAS Yoink! over! Damn.

AC was an AA in Reach, and its doing wonders. I doubt it will be removed.
