As I said before

There are alot of people these days saying that 343 is not hanndeling halo correctly. Well they are. They are being overwhelmed with the people who refuse to change their views on how halo should be instead of seeing the game evolve. There will be continually more advances that will be fun. Halo is evolving. It has come from the arcade type game to a massive online multiplayer experience. There will always be the people who refuse to change. Many of them the Die hard players of Halo, because the game Changed. It is going to happen. As I said before. Stop flaming, move on, and enjoy the game.

People who aren’t open to the evolution of a franchise bug me, most of them complain about how Call of Duty doesn’t change yet, ironically, want every Halo to be a Halo 3 or Halo 2 copy.

> There are alot of people these days saying that 343 is not hanndeling halo correctly. Well they are. They are being overwhelmed with the people who refuse to change their views on how halo should be instead of seeing the game evolve.

I actually see more people complaining about the lack of features in Halo 4 like custom game options, file browsers, theater modes and so on along with their mismanagement with all of their forms of DLC, be they maps, specializations and so on. Of course those wanting a game more like the previous iterations aren’t unreasonable either.

> There will be continually more advances that will be fun.

Debatable.

> Halo is evolving.

Well then Halo 4 is a evolutinary deadend. It’s African wholly mammoth.

> It has come from the arcade type game to a massive online multiplayer experience.

And what was wrong with this “arcade” style fun?

> There will always be the people who refuse to change. Many of them the Die hard players of Halo, because the game Changed. It is going to happen. As I said before. Stop flaming, move on, and enjoy the game.

So you tell people to stop flaming by going after them and misconstruing their grievances because you yourself don’t get them? Seems legit.

My complaints are based on them not advancing enough. When I drive a mech I am expecting Hawken, Armored Core, or at least Chrome Hounds… Not a walking coffin that moves like it has Arthritis. I want a tank that borders on being a monster not some pathetic platform that travels two miles an hour and is destroyed by a two hit combo and a wrestling move.

I am not happy with this game being a complete joke when it comes to Vehicles or tech.

Right Im tired of people accusing other people of narrowing their viewpoints just because they dont agree with 343i direction.

So instead Im going ask what was so evolutionary about Halo 4 besides the cutscesnes.

Was it the new combat system in campaign which made the AA system relevent to the story?
Was it the new way 343i chose to tell the story through non-cutscene methods?
Was it the way 343i evolved the Halo combat formula by moving away from the standard “cutscene, shoot, cutscene , vehicle section?”
Was it the way 343i evolved the new enemies even though they admitted they they flat out didnt want to “reinvent the wheel” and just used the elites shield system?

Using the word evolutionary to describe Halo 4 is an insult to games that actually push the medium forward.

Halo 4 is a testament, not to a bad game but to mediocrity. The amalgamation of decisions fueled by populace and ganeral thinking.

343i can do better and they should!

All i see is more complaints. complaints, complaints, complaints. Are you people the game desingners? No. Stop complaining about something you cant fix. instead talk to them via calling, email (probably gunna have to wait. Not really a good idea.), or just send letters. putting stuff on the forums is kind of un important. They dont look on there enough other wise you would of gotten an answer. They only have so many people on their team.

> So you tell people to stop flaming by going after them and misconstruing their grievances because you yourself don’t get them? Seems legit.

That’s what most of the people on these forums do. they say things like Halo is evolving, yet it’s changing to a completely different game than the game I used to enjoy. I’ve loved the first trilogy, all of the 3 games, and I’m sad to see that they’ve changed the game I loved so much, instead of improving it.

> I see people trying to get other people to play the old games because of the lack. I see nothing in your argument that doesnt prove my point.

Are those people the majority? No.

> Maybe not to you since you are being critical to a company that is just getting started.

So if I say they may or may not make advances that might be fun, that is bad. But when you say they WILL make fun features, that is acceptable?

> The more you say this the more I see my point proved. People like you are trying to say that if you dont get it right the first time then its not going to go anywhere.

I see my final point proven right here, you are making an assumption. I’ve never said it must be right the first time. Was Halo 2 perfect at launch? No. Complaining commenced and it got better. Same with Halo 3 and Reach to an extent. I want the game to improve, but I won’t cut any slack for broken features right out of the gate.

> Arcade gets boring. there is no point to arcade games.

Based on what?

Not surprising.

I have not made any assumptions. I have observed how you people react to something that is still a work in progress. Complaining on the forums wont get you anywhere. Be professional and talk to them personally. You wont hear back from them for a while, but you will get answers. no flaming, no cutting down, and most of all, no profanity.

I’m open to the game evolving. I’m not open to poorly thought out game mechanics.

Call me a hater all you want, I love Halo, and it’s my love of Halo that wants to see it evolve on a more well thought out path than 343i pushed Halo 4 onto.

The fact is Halo 4 is not as good as it could be, or could have been. And unless these people tell 343i that, they won’t think anything is wrong. If they don’t think anything is wrong, the game will never improve, it will just stay the same.

> I have not made any assumptions. I have observed how you people react to something that is still a work in progress.

You just made another assumption by lumping me with people you view as senseless whiners. The game shouldn’t be a “work-in-progress” at this point, but there should be improvements. A basic livable house should have a solid foundation and actually finished, not have broken windows, locks and a shoddy roof and so on. A basic house, however, should be able to be customized and fixed up by general maintenance ever now and then. About now, Halo 4 is a poorly built house in need of major restoration.

> Complaining on the forums wont get you anywhere.

Why not?

> Be professional and talk to them personally.

Complaints can be professional.

> You wont hear back from them for a while, but you will get answers. no flaming, no cutting down, and most of all, no profanity.

I don’t do any of that.

I did not call anyone a hater. people are complaining on the forums instead of going to 343 directly. I do believe in the changes they made. I sympathize with you people who dont like how some of the features work. but thats no reason to start sending hate mail to the company. hate mail will only get you no response. Be professional. No “!” or all caps. Forums are for the community to use. If you talk to the company, do not use profanity either. be professional. use ediquite.

I’d just like to see the option of being able to play the older style arena shooter that I and many others loved. It can evolve and add all the gimmicks and shinny armor it wants but at least give us the freaking option to play HALO. Halo 4 just has so much potential to give us that.

> I did not call anyone a hater. people are complaining on the forums instead of going to 343 directly. I do believe in the changes they made. This was my most resent thread were I “complained about Halo 4” Did I use proffanity, rudeness or even directly insult 343i?

No being nice doesnt always get you respect but its a courtesy we give to 343i anyway because we respect them, were just asking that 343i respect the hardcore fans more than the casual crowd.

> I did not call anyone a hater. people are complaining on the forums instead of going to 343 directly.

Because you really can’t go to them directly unless you have Twitter, but only so much of people’s grievances can be summarized in about 140 characters.

> I do believe in the changes they made.

And others cannot believe in something they have not seen, that doesn’t mean they are wrong.

> I sympathize with you people who dont like how some of the features work.

Or don’t work as the case is.

> but thats no reason to start sending hate mail to the company. hate mail will only get you no response. Be professional. No “!” or all caps. Forums are for the community to use. If you talk to the company, do not use profanity either. be professional. use ediquite.

Not everybody acts that way, I don’t see why you fail to understand that.

Halo isnt something that can be summarized in a few game types. It will go beyond. Im tired of the previous posts on my topic. it just shows that there will be Die hard players. what you want cant happen over the course of this game. They dont have enough bandwidth to put in some of the other game types. all this wanting the old stuff cant happen if you dont have the bandwidth.

> Halo isnt something that can be summarized in a few game types. It will go beyond.

So that means key gametypes that have provided fun for Halo fans for years should just be thrown out? No Assault? No Race? No Territories? And gametypes that remain should be limited and restrictive and force people to play 343i’s way, even in Customs? Can’t turn off sprint, can’t customize Flood, can’t drop the Flag in CTF? How is that “going beyond”?

> Im tired of the previous posts on my topic. it just shows that there will be Die hard players.

So what do you want, do you want people to just blindly agree with you? Why is it everyone else must make sacrifices for Halo 4 when such things didn’t have to occur in past games?

> what you want cant happen over the course of this game.

Why?

> They dont have enough bandwidth to put in some of the other game types.

Proof of that statement? It makes me wonder what that REQUIRED 3GB install was all about then.

> all this wanting the old stuff cant happen if you dont have the bandwidth.

Again, source?

They said while they were creating the game that they only have so much bandwidth to work with over the course of the game. that should include map packs. try to make sense. the game is released all is said and done. I do think they could add in the old types with some twists but that would require alot of bandwidth. and some how I do believe that you cant put in a bunch addons in 3 gb. that would mean that the game would become really crappy.

Not to burst your bubble here, but thousands of people tried to get in touch with 343I during the specializations debacle. They have no phone #, no mailing address, no real tech support, no support at all except for MS Support (which really isn’t Halo 4 support).
The forums are the only place to express the issues, and there are a couple of forums that all go unanswered…
This is where they are supposed to listen to us and they don’t. The forums aren’t just for praising a beta of a game that cost $60+.
This game has real issues that need solving. I like the gameplay, that being said, I don’t think it’s as good as Halo 2, but I like it better than 3 and Reach.

My biggest issues with the game isn’t really the game per say, it’s 343i’s lack of communication and whatever process they use to make developmental decisions.

You dont like the game then yougo back to the previous games and the forums they have and get off the h4 forums.
