As a custom games option, at least?

343, I was so happy when I stopped by the custom games tab and started messing around with some of the settings. It seemed like there was nothing you couldn’t fine tweak in the player traits section and players were given such incredible control over the bare mechanics this time around. So many of them in fact, it kinda feels like I’m modding the game lol… I can tell this was not an afterthought and that really touches me because it means you wanted it this way.

You can enable reloads during Sprint, change strafing and forward speed + acceleration, make thrusters stronger and recharge faster, player gravity actually goes to zero allowing constant velocity, and you can even disable de-Sprint and Sprint shield delays… There’s almost nothing you can’t do while tuning these mechanics, but the key word here is ‘almost’…

Spartan Abilities are a key mechanic in Halo 5 and while they can be turned off in customs, I’d rather not attempt to play it’s maps without them… Actually, the only reason I would disable them at all would be to have constant gun readiness like in Halos 1 - 3, which brings me to ask, is it possible to include the option to enabling shooting on all Spartan Abilities, including Slide? What I’m saying is, I’ve never been able to do this before and it’d be interesting to see how Halo 5 plays when the opposite is true, and your weapons do not lower during Spartan Abilities.

Anyone else here feel the same?

The only problem though is that the Cr/Exp/Req systems have been killing custom games ever since Reach was released. There is no point in playing customs, since you don’t get anything for playing them while you could spend the time on earning phat reqs.

Back in H3 I would play a matchmaking game just to browse through recent players and join customs. This doesn’t happen anymore.

I just want an option for random weapon spawns. Where’s my fiesta?

Well, actually, where are all the other multiplayer modes? Infection? Assault? Grifball? VIP? Hell, where’s Oddball and King of the Hill? Even Halo: Combat Evolved shipped with that back in 2001? There is no excuse. If they couldn’t make it to ship then they should have maybe, I don’t know… Wait till the game was finished before shipping?

The game’s not broken, but clearly they didn’t learn from The Master Chief Collection if it’s still okay to ship unfinished games

Playing is it’s own reward? Having fun? Yeah?

There’s not even that much incentive to rank up/get points. All you get are cosmetic items and stuff to use in one multiplayer mode. That mode only having three maps, two variations and the same enemy spawn locations and objective points.

You’d think I would’ve noticed something like that was gone… Wow I knew something was ‘off’ when I shuffled through the starting weapon settings…

That is also on my list of things this thread was going to be about, (and just a high priority addition overall) so yeah, I agree wholeheartedly there. Custom games take a lot of work and maintenance on the host’s part just to get rolling.

There’s also no Campaign earnings either so aside from finding the remaining easter eggs you’re not encouraged to play Singleplayer at all in Halo 5…
