Halo 3 was the best video game I’ve ever played,but when I finaly got my parents to let me play halo the multiplayer ended.

If I could be the owner of 343 I would make halo games have coop at realease. And have great customization/Multiplayer
Honestly, I think you’d be better off playing it ‘in tandem’ each of you playing through your campaign mission by mission and then chatting about it after each mission.
No spoilers - but there is that ‘open world’ aspect to the game - and I think it’s best first experienced alone. You’ll be able to explore all you want and not feel like you need to wait for the other person.
I think there’s 14 main levels for the campaign? You could just tell each other “After every 2 levels, don’t do another level until we sit down and compare stories.” That way, you can spend time in between levels still playing in the ‘open’ areas, just not doing missions, while whoever needs to catch up does that.
Then, when co-op releases later, you can play together through the missions, having got all that exploration out of your system and just blast through the story.
OR you can play together having got the story out of the way, and you can simply have fun together being random explorers.
Halo for me is an AMAZING co-op experience - but I always prefer the 1st play through to be solo.
