Simple… A good ranking and skill based matching system. I like halo multiplayer but not my favorite. However, when it comes to the game/style whether it’s arena or CoD type game as long as by the end of the game, whether its win/lose, I have a k/d of 1 or close to it I’m a happy camper… Not that I camp… much.
Either way. Make it as competitive of a game as you can, just make sure the match making system is able to pair me with people who are as close to my skill level as possible.
One thing might help, reach had a filter where you could describe your play style and try to be placed with people that are similar to what you checked.
Regardless, as a casual player… This is all I ask. Well, this might be controversial but I like the Mantis sooo… That would be cool to.

I would hope everyone agrees.
And the Mantis I would like to see back too. A redesign to make it look a little more intimidating/unsc-like would be nice too. Heck they could balance the thing by making it a first person mode vehicle only if the general opinion is that it’s too OP.

That would not even begin to solve the various fundamental problems that plague the Mantis. 343 need to redesign it from scratch or trash it altogether. Hopefully it gets written out, there are so many other vehicle ideas more deserving of attention
Movement speed, shield recharge delay and shield recharge rate are all incredibly show, leading to similarly slow-paced gameplay; vehicles should not feel like a chore to move around. Weapons are so ridiculously powerful and easy to use that any sort of two-sided combat with either other vehicles or infantry is impossible. Mantis-Mantis combat is just unloading all your weapons at the other guy and hoping he explodes first.
I also think the Mantis looks ugly and ungainly, but that’s just an aesthetic opinion, not a fundamental gameplay flaw.
Aside from the clunky movement, don’t forget that heavy vehicles are supposed to have a weak spot like the Scorpion’s hatch or the heat vent thing on the back of the Wraith.
A competitive MM with rank that can increase and decrease each match.
And an occasionnal with rank from 1-50 that can only increase and you can unlock things…

Other way round. 1-50 is for the TrueSkill rating system; players should have a TS number associated with each playlist, which will increase or decrease as the formula dictates. On top of this, an exp-based rank spanning all playlists should unlock new ranks and cosmetic armour permutations. Exp can only be gained, not lost, so every player feels like they’re going somewhere no matter how bad they are.

Another thing wrong with the Mantis is that it’s ugly.
You’ve also given me an idea for a new Mantis look.
It’d be pretty cool if it had an arm that looked like a Hunter’s: regular bicep area with a giant cannon/ machine gun on the forearm, and the other arm would be used for a “melee” action, like ground pounds or something similar, or the left arm would be holding the right arm/cannon. And have a little “bubble cockpit” but still have it on top, and a sort of wall behind where the player would enter. The person to hijack or board the enemy would grab a small ladder wrung on the body and do the classic “melee or plant grenade” move.
The movementSHOULD be agile, and the shields should be like a double overshield, and recharge like regular shields, but without one layer of shielding. The machine gun/cannon should be at least as powerful as the SAW, and you could melee other vehicles or Mantises. The Mantis should move at player speed, and feel like an “extension to the player”.
