Check out this picture from Dark Horse’s “The Art of Halo Infinite.”

This concept art looks better than the real game…it almost makes me wish they went full Wind Waker on Halo and committed to a less detailed but purposefully stylized approach. I remember being shocked by Wind Waker’s art style at first because it was radically different from Ocarina of Time, but it worked because they fully embraced it.

As it currently stands it feels like they didn’t fully commit to creating a unified aesthetic which detracts from an immersive experience. Of course it is too late now, but they should have realized their technical limitations and budgeted their artistic assets with more purpose.
