Art Style & Gameplay

I havnt played too many games to really know how I feel about this game. But I wish that 343 would use the same art style as halo 2 anniversary.

The gameplay has a pretty big skill gap, I’m not sure how I feel about the thrusters and all that comes with it. Smart scope takes some getting used to, and sprint is as balanced as they can get without removing it.

Right now the game is just an automatic weapon game. I wish they would put in BR starts. But so far I can say that this is game much better that halo 4.

The main menu music is NOT halo. We need the monks again!

Ive been playing halo since H1 and im one of those players that favors the old style gameplay but after playing a few games I think that

  • The AR needs to be tweaked down- The BR needs to be a starting weapon- The thruster pack is good, I dont use it that much but its not a game breaker.- Smart scope is alright, still would rather have the old sights back. But It feels like a new gun when I use it.- Killcams have improved from H4 but there should be an option to toggle it off- “Climbing” is a good mechanic. I just wish maps were not built around it (getting to the sword on truth for an example)
overall with a little bit of tweaking the game could be the next best halo…

I agree.

-I like the AR though … it’s still weaker than the BR & DMR, but now it’s not utterly useless. Yeah it gets annoying sometimes, but at least it’s a useful gun now.

-I’ve yet to Ground Pound successfully or be ground pounded.

-The shoulder slam, or whatever it’s called, I’ve pulled off a few times and was actually able to then finish up the kill, which is good. But I haven’t been slammed myself.

-The aiming is the big thing. Auto aim and bullet magnetism seem to be turned down. A lot. Like Halo CE levels … which is great. You actually have to be a good shot.

-I don’t really care for Empire. But that’s just me.

-The sniper rifle is really hard to get a kill with. I’m not the best sniper anyway, but I can usually do alright. This one, however, I don’t even bother picking up anymore. I’ve been guarding it to let someone on my team get it who’s hopefully better get it.

So far this game is fantastic.

ok

I agree that the AR and SMG are a bit too powerful, but I admit I do love using them, especially the SMG. I like the art style on Truth, Empire looks ok but is nothing special.

I think it look great, aside from the armour customization and UI which I can cry about all day as 343 will never get as nice a UI and armour customization as Reach.
However I do think the sounds are great.

I wish they didnt deviate from bungies art style in halo 4, it made halo look kinda scifi generic especially with the sleek spartan armor. I think reach was the pinnacle of halo’s art style, even tho 4 and 5 have better graphics. Something about bungies art made everything feel grounded to reality, now everything looks like anything else from a scifi gmae.

If you do both, you destroy the beautiful revolution H5 has brought us, freeing us from the tyranny of precisions being literally the only thing you should use. Seriously, I can understand why people want an AR nerf, and it might benefit from a tiny, tiny one, but don’t nerf it into uselessness. It’s damn near perfect.
